वीरवार को प्रदेश संयुक्त किसान मोर्चा के आह्वान पर हिमाचल प्रदेशभर में केंद्र सरकार के खिलाफ विरोध प्रदर्शन किए गए। इसी क्रम में पांवटा साहिब में भी संयुक्त किसान मोर्चा के बैनर तले किसानों ने प्रदर्शन करते हुए एसडीएम के माध्यम से राष्ट्रपति को ज्ञापन सौंपा। इस दौरान किसान नेताओं ने मीडिया से बातचीत में आरोप लगाया कि केंद्र सरकार अमेरिका के साथ जो व्यापारिक संधि करने जा रही है, वह पूरी तरह जन विरोधी और किसान विरोधी है। उनका कहना था कि इस तरह की डील देश की आर्थिक संरचना और आत्मनिर्भरता के लिए गंभीर खतरा साबित हो सकती है किसानों ने कहा कि इस समझौते से देश के उद्योगों पर नकारात्मक प्रभाव पड़ेगा और हजारों युवाओं के रोजगार पर संकट मंडरा सकता है। साथ ही डेयरी और कृषि क्षेत्र से जुड़े लोगों के लिए भी यह समझौता नुकसानदायक साबित होगा। किसान नेताओं ने राष्ट्रपति से अपील की है कि इस प्रस्तावित डील को रोका जाए। उन्होंने चेतावनी दी कि यदि उनकी मांगों पर ध्यान नहीं दिया गया, तो किसान देशभर में आंदोलन तेज करते हुए सड़कों पर उतरने को मजबूर होंगे

On Thursday, protests were held across Himachal Pradesh at the call of the State United Kisan Morcha (Sangh Kisan Morcha). In Paonta Sahib, farmers under the banner of the United Kisan Morcha also protested and submitted a memorandum to the President through the SDM. Farmer leaders, speaking to the media, alleged that the trade agreement the Central Government is about to sign with the United States is completely anti-people and anti-farmer. They stated that such a deal could pose a serious threat to the country’s economic structure and self-reliance. Farmers stated that this agreement would negatively impact the country’s industries and threaten the employment of thousands of youth. Furthermore, this agreement would be detrimental to those involved in the dairy and agriculture sectors. Farmer leaders have appealed to the President to stop this proposed deal. They warned that if their demands are not addressed, farmers will be forced to intensify their protests across the country and take to the streets.
