हिमाचल प्रदेश सरकार ने जिला सिरमौर स्थित माजरा बालिका हॉकी छात्रावास में महाविद्यालयों में अध्ययनरत छात्राओं के लिए 16 कॉलेज कैडर सीटों के आवंटन को मंजूरी प्रदान की है। इस निर्णय से क्षेत्र की प्रतिभावान हॉकी खिलाड़ी छात्राओं को उच्च शिक्षा के साथ-साथ बेहतर खेल प्रशिक्षण की सुविधा उपलब्ध हो सकेगी। श्री गुरु गोविन्द सिंह राजकीय महाविद्यालय, पांवटा साहिब के प्राचार्य जगदीश चौहान ने बताया कि उच्च शिक्षा निदेशालय के माध्यम से मिली यह स्वीकृति खेल और शिक्षा के क्षेत्र में बालिकाओं को प्रोत्साहित करने की दिशा में एक महत्वपूर्ण कदम है। छात्रावास की सुविधा से हॉकी खिलाड़ियों को गुणवत्तापूर्ण शिक्षा प्राप्त करने के साथ व्यवस्थित प्रशिक्षण का लाभ मिलेगा। उन्होंने कहा कि बालिका हॉकी छात्रावास, माजरा के निकटतम उच्च शिक्षण संस्थान होने के कारण श्री गुरु गोविन्द सिंह राजकीय महाविद्यालय, पांवटा साहिब पात्र छात्राओं के प्रवेश एवं अन्य शैक्षणिक प्रक्रियाओं में सहयोग प्रदान करेगा। साथ ही छात्राओं को आवश्यक शैक्षणिक सहायता भी उपलब्ध कराई जाएगी। महाविद्यालय प्रशासन ने जिला सिरमौर एवं आसपास के क्षेत्रों की प्रतिभाशाली हॉकी खिलाड़ी छात्राओं से इस अवसर का लाभ उठाने की अपील की है। उनका कहना है कि यह पहल छात्राओं को खेल और शिक्षा दोनों क्षेत्रों में आगे बढ़ने का सुनहरा मंच प्रदान करेगी। प्राचार्य ने बताया कि राज्य सरकार खेल अवसंरचना को मजबूत करने और नई हॉकी प्रतिभाओं को आगे लाने के लिए निरंतर प्रयासरत है। प्रवेश प्रक्रिया, पात्रता एवं आवेदन से संबंधित विस्तृत दिशा-निर्देश जल्द ही महाविद्यालय की आधिकारिक वेबसाइट, सूचना पट्ट तथा अन्य माध्यमों के जरिए जारी किए जाएंगे। महाविद्यालय प्रशासन ने आशा व्यक्त की है कि इस योजना से प्रदेश में खेल एवं शिक्षा के समन्वित विकास को नई गति मिलेगी और अधिकाधिक छात्राएं राष्ट्रीय एवं अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर अपनी प्रतिभा का प्रदर्शन कर सकेंगी।

The Himachal Pradesh government has approved the allocation of 16 ‘college-cadre’ seats for female students pursuing college education at the Majra Girls’ Hockey Hostel in Sirmour district. This decision will provide talented female hockey players in the region with access to superior sports training alongside their higher education. Jagdish Chauhan, Principal of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Government College, Paonta Sahib, stated that this approval—received through the Directorate of Higher Education—marks a significant step toward encouraging girls in the fields of sports and education. The hostel facility will enable hockey players to benefit from organized training while receiving quality education. He noted that since Sri Guru Gobind Singh Government College, Paonta Sahib, is the nearest higher education institution to the Majra Girls’ Hockey Hostel, the college will assist with the admission of eligible students and other academic procedures. Additionally, necessary academic support will be provided to the students.
The college administration has urged talented female hockey players from Sirmour district and surrounding areas to avail themselves of this opportunity. They believe this initiative will offer a golden platform for students to excel in both sports and academics.
