जिला मुख्यालय नाहन में विकास कार्यों को लेकर राजनीति गरमा गई है। यहाँ शरारती तत्वों द्वारा दो प्रमुख सड़कों की शिलान्यास पट्टिकाओं (Inauguration Plaques) को तोड़ने का मामला सामने आया है। इन पट्टिकाओं का अनावरण हाल ही में स्थानीय विधायक अजय सोलंकी द्वारा किया गया था। इस घटना के बाद लोक निर्माण विभाग (PWD) ने कड़ा संज्ञान लेते हुए पुलिस में आधिकारिक शिकायत दर्ज करवाई है। गौरतलब है कि बीते 16 अप्रैल को कांग्रेस विधायक अजय सोलंकी ने नाहन विधानसभा क्षेत्र में करीब 13 करोड़ रुपये की लागत से बनने वाली दो महत्वपूर्ण सड़कों का विधि-विधान से शिलान्यास और भूमि पूजन किया था। अभी इन सड़कों का निर्माण कार्य शुरू ही हुआ था कि बीती रात अज्ञात शरारती तत्वों ने मौके पर लगी दोनों शिलान्यास पट्टिकाओं को क्षतिग्रस्त कर दिया। इस घटना पर प्रतिक्रिया देते हुए विधायक अजय सोलंकी ने इसे समाज के लिए बेहद दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण करार दिया। उन्होंने कहा, “पट्टिकाएं तोड़ने जैसे कृत्य आपसी भाईचारे को कमजोर करते हैं। विकास एक निरंतर प्रक्रिया है और यह किसी एक व्यक्ति या दल की जागीर नहीं है।”

विधायक ने कड़े शब्दों में कहा कि उन्हें विकास कार्यों का श्रेय लेने की कोई लालसा नहीं है। उन्होंने यहाँ तक कहा कि यदि उनके द्वारा किए गए कार्यों पर कोई अन्य अपना नाम भी लिखवा ले, तो उन्हें आपत्ति नहीं होगी, क्योंकि जनता जानती है कि काम किसने किया है। उन्होंने भावुक होते हुए कहा कि पट्टिका तोड़ने से उनकी पहचान खत्म नहीं होगी, क्योंकि उनकी पहचान लोगों के दिलों में है। मामले की गंभीरता को देखते हुए विधायक सोलंकी ने अपने कार्यकर्ताओं और समर्थकों से संयम बरतने की अपील की है। उन्होंने कहा कि समर्थक भावनाओं में न बहें और शांति बनाए रखें। उन्होंने कार्यकर्ताओं को निर्देश दिए कि वे ऐसी छोटी हरकतों से विचलित हुए बिना सेवा भाव के साथ जनता के बीच जाकर काम करते रहें। लोक निर्माण विभाग की शिकायत मिलने के बाद पुलिस ने मामले की जांच शुरू कर दी है। विभाग ने इस घटना को सरकारी संपत्ति को नुकसान पहुँचाने और विकास कार्यों में बाधा डालने के तौर पर देखा है। पुलिस अब आसपास के क्षेत्रों में लगे सीसीटीवी कैमरों और स्थानीय लोगों से पूछताछ कर शरारती तत्वों की पहचान करने में जुट गई है।

Mischief by Unruly Elements in Nahan: MLA Ajay Solanki’s Foundation Plaques Vandalized; PWD Files Complaint

Politics surrounding development works has heated up at the district headquarters in Nahan. An incident has come to light in which unruly elements vandalized the foundation plaques (inauguration plaques) of two major roads. These plaques had been unveiled recently by the local MLA, Ajay Solanki. Taking serious cognizance of this incident, the Public Works Department (PWD) has lodged an official complaint with the police. It is noteworthy that on April 16, Congress MLA Ajay Solanki had ceremonially laid the foundation stone and performed the Bhoomi Pujan (ground-breaking ceremony) for two significant roads in the Nahan Assembly constituency, being constructed at a cost of approximately ₹13 crore. Construction work on these roads had barely begun when, last night, unidentified miscreants damaged both foundation plaques installed at the site. Reacting to the incident, MLA Ajay Solanki termed it “extremely unfortunate” for society. He stated, “Acts such as breaking foundation plaques undermine mutual harmony and brotherhood. Development is a continuous process; it is not the personal fiefdom of any single individual or political party.”

In strong terms, the MLA asserted that he harbors no desire to claim credit for development works. He went so far as to say that he would have no objection even if someone else were to inscribe their own name on the works executed by him, as the public is well aware of who actually carried out the work. Speaking with emotion, he remarked that the destruction of the plaques would not erase his identity, for his true identity resides within the hearts of the people. Given the gravity of the situation, MLA Solanki has appealed to his party workers and supporters to exercise restraint. He urged his supporters not to get carried away by their emotions and to maintain peace. He further instructed his workers to remain undeterred by such petty acts and to continue working amongst the public with a spirit of selfless service. Following the receipt of the complaint from the Public Works Department, the police have initiated an investigation into the matter. The department has viewed this incident as an act of damaging government property and obstructing development works. The police have now begun the task of identifying the miscreants by examining CCTV footage from surrounding areas and questioning local residents.
