बिलासपुर के लुहणू क्रिकेट ग्राउंड में आयोजित एक दिवसीय अंतर जिला अंडर-23 पुरुष क्रिकेट प्रतियोगिता में सिरमौर टीम ने शानदार प्रदर्शन करते हुए हमीरपुर को 5 विकेट से हराकर क्वार्टर फाइनल में प्रवेश कर लिया। इससे पहले भी सिरमौर ने अपने पहले मुकाबले में लाहौल-स्पीति के खिलाफ बेहतरीन जीत दर्ज की थी। मुकाबले में हमीरपुर ने टॉस जीतकर पहले बल्लेबाजी का निर्णय लिया, लेकिन सिरमौर के गेंदबाजों ने सधी हुई गेंदबाजी करते हुए विरोधी टीम को 207 रन पर समेट दिया। सिरमौर की ओर से अक्षित कंवर, दिवांशु पुंडीर, सुकेश और प्रियंशु शर्मा ने शानदार प्रदर्शन करते हुए 2-2 विकेट हासिल किए। 208 रन के लक्ष्य का पीछा करने उतरी सिरमौर टीम को सलामी बल्लेबाज अचल देव और अक्षित शर्मा ने शानदार शुरुआत दिलाई। दोनों बल्लेबाजों ने पहले विकेट के लिए 90 रन की साझेदारी कर टीम की जीत की नींव रखी। कप्तान अचल देव ने जिम्मेदारी भरी पारी खेलते हुए 116 गेंदों में 97 रन बनाए और दुर्भाग्यवश शतक से चूक गए। इसके बाद नमन वर्मा ने 46 रन की नाबाद पारी खेलते हुए अचल देव का अच्छा साथ निभाया। दोनों के बीच 108 रन की महत्वपूर्ण साझेदारी हुई, जिसकी बदौलत सिरमौर ने मुकाबला आसानी से अपने नाम कर लिया। सिरमौर टीम का अगला लीग मुकाबला 25 मई को शिमला के खिलाफ खेला जाएगा। टीम कोच दिनेश मोगिया और टीम मैनेजर तपेन्द्र सिंह के मार्गदर्शन में शानदार प्रदर्शन कर रही है। टीम की जीत पर जिला क्रिकेट संघ के सचिव राजेंद्र बब्बी और अध्यक्ष अतर सिंह नेगी ने खिलाड़ियों को बधाई देते हुए आगामी मुकाबलों के लिए शुभकामनाएं दीं।

In the one-day Inter-District Under-23 Men’s Cricket Tournament held at the Luhnu Cricket Ground in Bilaspur, the Sirmaur team delivered a stellar performance, defeating Hamirpur by 5 wickets to advance to the quarter-finals. Prior to this match, Sirmaur had already registered an impressive victory against Lahaul-Spiti in their opening fixture. In the contest, Hamirpur won the toss and elected to bat first; however, Sirmaur’s bowlers displayed disciplined bowling to restrict the opposing team to a total of 207 runs. For Sirmaur, Akshit Kanwar, Divanshu Pundir, Sukesh, and Priyanshu Sharma delivered outstanding performances, each claiming two wickets. Chasing a target of 208 runs, the Sirmaur team was given a magnificent start by opening batsmen Achal Dev and Akshit Sharma. The duo laid the foundation for the team’s victory by forging a 90-run partnership for the first wicket. Captain Achal Dev played a responsible innings, scoring 97 runs off 116 balls, though he unfortunately fell just short of a century. Subsequently, Naman Verma provided excellent support to Achal Dev, playing an unbeaten innings of 46 runs. A crucial 108-run partnership developed between the two, thanks to which Sirmaur comfortably clinched the match. The Sirmaur team’s next league match is scheduled to be played against Shimla on May 25th. The team is performing exceptionally well under the guidance of Team Coach Dinesh Mogia and Team Manager Tapendra Singh.
