कुंजा मतरालियां की अवैध डंपिंग साइट में भीषण आग: जंगल और सैकड़ों पेड़ राख..

पांवटा साहिब की कुंजा मतरालियां पंचायत में अवैध रूप से बनाई गई डंपिंग साइट में अचानक आग लगने से पूरे क्षेत्र में हड़कंप मच गया। आग ने देखते ही देखते विकराल रूप धारण कर लिया और फॉरेस्ट एरिया, जंगल वैली सहित आसपास के बड़े हिस्से को अपनी चपेट में ले लिया। इस भीषण आग में सैकड़ों पेड़ जलकर राख हो गए, जबकि कई जीव-जंतु भी झुलस गए। स्थानीय लोगों के अनुसार पिछले दो दिनों से आग लगातार सुलग रही है, जिससे पूरे इलाके में धुएं का गुबार फैला हुआ है और पर्यावरण बुरी तरह प्रभावित हो रहा है। घटना के बाद हाईकोर्ट के आदेशों पर भी सवाल उठने लगे हैं। हाईकोर्ट द्वारा नगर परिषदों और पंचायतों को कचरा प्रबंधन को लेकर सख्त निर्देश दिए गए हैं ताकि नदियों और जंगलों को सुरक्षित रखा जा सके। इसके बावजूद यमुना किनारे खुले में इतनी बड़ी डंपिंग साइट का बनना प्रशासनिक कार्यप्रणाली पर सवाल खड़े कर रहा है। स्थानीय लोगों ने मांग की है कि पंचायत स्तर पर इस डंपिंग साइट की अनुमति किसने दी, इसकी निष्पक्ष जांच होनी चाहिए। आग की सूचना मिलते ही पॉल्यूशन विभाग के जूनियर इंजीनियर नवीन मौके पर पहुंचे। उन्होंने ए मैन काइंड की फायर ब्रिगेड टीम के साथ मिलकर आग बुझाने का प्रयास शुरू किया। वहीं रामपुर घाट चौकी प्रभारी दयाल भी पुलिस टीम के साथ मौके पर पहुंचे और राहत कार्य में जुट गए। मामले की शिकायत पुलिस को सौंप दी गई है। एसडीएम द्विज गोयल ने बताया कि मामला उनके संज्ञान में है और जांच के लिए तहसीलदार को मौके पर भेजा गया था। उन्होंने कहा कि इस मामले में जो भी दोषी पाया जाएगा, उसके खिलाफ सख्त कार्रवाई की जाएगी।

Panic gripped the entire region following a sudden outbreak of fire at an illegally established dumping site within the Kunja Matralian Panchayat in Paonta Sahib. The fire rapidly escalated into a massive inferno, engulfing a large surrounding area—including the designated forest zone and the valley—in a matter of moments. Hundreds of trees were reduced to ash in this fierce blaze, while numerous animals and wildlife also suffered burns. According to local residents, the fire has been smoldering continuously for the past two days, blanketing the entire locality in thick plumes of smoke and severely damaging the environment. In the wake of this incident, questions are now being raised regarding the efficacy of the High Court’s directives. The High Court had issued strict instructions to Municipal Councils and Panchayats regarding waste management protocols to ensure the protection of rivers and forests. Despite these directives, the existence of such a massive open-air dumping site along the banks of the Yamuna River casts serious doubts on the efficiency and accountability of the administrative machinery. Local residents have demanded an impartial inquiry to determine who, at the Panchayat level, granted permission for the establishment of this dumping site. Upon receiving reports of the fire, Naveen, a Junior Engineer from the Pollution Control Department, rushed to the scene. He, along with the fire brigade team from ‘A Man Kind,’ immediately commenced efforts to extinguish the blaze. Simultaneously, Dayal, the In-charge of the Rampur Ghat Police Post, arrived at the site with his police team and joined the relief operations. A formal complaint regarding the incident has been lodged with the police. SDM Dwij Goyal stated that the matter has come to his attention and that the Tehsildar was dispatched to the site to conduct an on-the-spot inspection. He further affirmed that strict action would be taken against anyone found guilty in connection with this incident.
