जिला सिरमौर पुलिस की स्पेशल डिटेक्शन टीम ने नशा तस्करी के खिलाफ कार्रवाई करते हुए 214 ग्राम चरस बरामद कर दो युवकों को गिरफ्तार किया है। आरोपियों के खिलाफ पुलिस थाना पुरुवाला में एनडीपीएस एक्ट के तहत मामला दर्ज कर आगामी जांच शुरू कर दी गई है।
जानकारी के अनुसार पुलिस की स्पेशल डिटेक्शन टीम पांवटा साहिब क्षेत्र में रामपुरघाट स्थित शराब ठेके के पास मौजूद थी। इसी दौरान गुप्त सूचना मिली कि एक मोटरसाइकिल नंबर UP31CC2151 पर सवार दो व्यक्ति गोन्दपुर की ओर से भारी मात्रा में चरस लेकर रामपुरघाट की तरफ आ रहे हैं। सूचना मिलते ही पुलिस टीम ने मौके पर नाकाबंदी कर वाहनों की जांच शुरू कर दी। कुछ देर बाद बताए गए नंबर की मोटरसाइकिल को रोककर तलाशी ली गई। बाइक चालक ने अपना नाम उबेद (22) पुत्र सहीद निवासी पश्चिमी लकपेड़ा, तहसील मोहम्मदी, जिला लखीमपुर खीरी उत्तर प्रदेश बताया, जबकि पीछे बैठे युवक ने अपना नाम असलम (26) पुत्र इसरार निवासी घुटईयाबाद, जिला लखीमपुर खीरी उत्तर प्रदेश बताया। तलाशी के दौरान मोटरसाइकिल के हैंडल में छिपाए गए एक लिफाफे से बत्ती के आकार की 214 ग्राम चरस बरामद हुई। पुलिस ने दोनों आरोपियों को गिरफ्तार कर उनके खिलाफ धारा 20, 29, 61 व 85 एनडीपीएस एक्ट के तहत मामला दर्ज कर लिया है। मामले की जांच जारी है।

Acting against drug trafficking, the Special Detection Team of the Sirmour District Police has recovered 214 grams of Charas and arrested two youths. A case has been registered against the accused under the NDPS Act at the Puruwala Police Station, and further investigation has commenced.According to reports, the police’s Special Detection Team was stationed near the liquor shop at Rampurghat in the Paonta Sahib area. During this time, they received a tip-off that two individuals riding a motorcycle (bearing registration number UP31CC2151) were approaching Rampurghat from the direction of Gondpur, carrying a significant quantity of Charas. Upon receiving this information, the police team immediately set up a roadblock at the location and began inspecting vehicles. A short while later, the motorcycle matching the reported registration number was intercepted and searched. The motorcycle rider identified himself as Ubed (22), son of Sahid, a resident of Pashchimi Lakpeda (Tehsil Mohammadi, District Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh), while the youth seated behind him identified himself as Aslam (26), son of Israr, a resident of Ghutaiyabad (District Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh).During the search, 214 grams of Charas—packed in the shape of a cylindrical stick—was recovered from an envelope concealed within the motorcycle’s handlebars. The police have arrested both accused individuals and registered a case against them under Sections 20, 29, 61, and 85 of the NDPS Act. The investigation into the matter is ongoing.
