देहरादून शहर के व्यस्ततम पलटन मार्केट स्थित मच्छी बाजार में मंगलवार को दिनदहाड़े एक युवती की निर्मम हत्या से सनसनी फैल गई। धारदार हथियार से किए गए इस हमले के बाद इलाके में दहशत का माहौल बन गया। घटना के विरोध में व्यापारियों ने अपनी दुकानें बंद रखीं और आरोपी को सख्त सजा दिलाने की मांग की। मृतका की पहचान गोविंदगढ़ निवासी 23 वर्षीय काजल के रूप में हुई है, जो पलटन मार्केट क्षेत्र के एक डेंटल क्लिनिक में कार्यरत थी। प्रत्यक्षदर्शियों के अनुसार, आरोपी पहले से ही घात लगाए बैठा था और जैसे ही युवती सड़क पर पहुंची, उस पर अचानक हमला कर दिया। गंभीर रूप से घायल युवती को अस्पताल ले जाया गया, जहां डॉक्टरों ने उसे मृत घोषित कर दिया।

सूचना मिलते ही पुलिस मौके पर पहुंची और जांच शुरू की। पुलिस ने त्वरित कार्रवाई करते हुए आरोपी आकाश कुमार को गिरफ्तार कर लिया है। प्रारंभिक जांच में मामला आपसी रंजिश का बताया जा रहा है, हालांकि पुलिस सभी पहलुओं से जांच कर रही है। घटना के बाद स्थानीय व्यापारियों और नागरिकों में भारी आक्रोश है। लोगों का कहना है कि भीड़भाड़ वाले बाजार में इस तरह की वारदात कानून-व्यवस्था पर गंभीर सवाल खड़े करती है। व्यापारियों ने सुरक्षा बढ़ाने और आरोपी को कठोरतम सजा देने की मांग की है। पुलिस अधिकारियों का कहना है कि आरोपी से पूछताछ जारी है और जल्द ही पूरे मामले का खुलासा किया जाएगा।
