धारटीधार क्षेत्र के लिए आज का दिन बेहद ऐतिहासिक रहा, क्योंकि पांवटा साहिब में दो अलग-अलग मंचों पर क्षेत्र के युवाओं ने अपनी प्रतिभा का परचम लहराया। दून प्रेस क्लब के अध्यक्ष पद के महत्वपूर्ण चुनाव में आज होटल रॉकवुड रिज़ॉर्ट बातापुल में क्लब के चेयरमैन व चुनाव अधिकारी दिनेश ठाकुर की अध्यक्षता में बैठक आयोजित की गई। बैठक में सर्वसम्मति से धारटीधार क्षेत्र के मुकेश रमौल को एक बार फिर दून प्रेस क्लब का प्रधान चुना गया। इसी बैठक में क्लब के अन्य पदाधिकारियों का भी सर्वसम्मति से चयन हुआ। मुकेश चौधरी वरिष्ठ उपाध्यक्ष, भीम सिंह उपाध्यक्ष, शीशपाल सैनी महासचिव और गुरिंदर चौधरी कोषाध्यक्ष नियुक्त किए गए। वहीं डॉ. अनुराग गुप्ता (एडवोकेट) को कानूनी सलाहकार का दायित्व सौंपा गया।

इस अवसर पर ‘हिमाचल यूनियन ऑफ जर्नलिस्ट्स’ के संगठन मंत्री गोपाल दत्त शर्मा ने विशेष तौर पर उपस्थित होकर नव-निर्वाचित टीम को शुभकामनाएं दीं। दून प्रेस क्लब पत्रकारिता, सामाजिक गतिविधियों, मीडिया संवाद और जनजागरूकता अभियानों के लिए जाना जाता है, और वर्षों से क्षेत्र में सकारात्मक भूमिका निभा रहा है। बैठक में पूर्व प्रधान श्याम लाल पुंडीर, कुलदीप गतवाल, पूर्व महासचिव तरुण खन्ना, पूर्व कोषाध्यक्ष मंजीत सिंह, राजेंद्र शर्मा, संजीव शर्मा, राजेश कुमार सहित कई वरिष्ठ पत्रकार उपस्थित रहे।

उधर, पांवटा साहिब में सिरमौर हिल्स विंटर क्रिकेट चैंपियनशिप का भव्य समापन भी आज ही सम्पन्न हुआ। विजेता टीम के लिए 2 लाख रुपये और उपविजेता टीम के लिए 1 लाख रुपये का आकर्षक पुरस्कार रखा गया था। विशेष बात यह रही कि फाइनल में पहुंचने वाली दोनों टीमें धारटीधार और कांसर दोनों धारटीधार क्षेत्र के युवाओं की थीं, जिसने क्षेत्र का नाम एक बार फिर गौरवान्वित किया। धारटीधार क्षेत्र ने एक ही दिन में पत्रकारिता और खेल दोनों क्षेत्रों में उल्लेखनीय उपलब्धियां हासिल कर यह साबित किया कि यहां की प्रतिभा हर क्षेत्र में चमकने के लिए तैयार है।

Today was a historic day for the Dhartidhar region, as the youth of the region showcased their talent on two different platforms in Paonta Sahib. A meeting was held today at Hotel Rockwood Resort Batapul under the chairmanship of the club’s chairman and election officer, Dinesh Thakur, for the important election for the post of President of the Doon Press Club. Mukesh Ramoul of the Dhartidhar region was unanimously elected as the President of the Doon Press Club. Other office bearers of the club were also unanimously elected in the same meeting. Mukesh Chaudhary was appointed Senior Vice President, Bhim Singh Vice President, Sheeshpal Saini General Secretary, and Gurinder Chaudhary Treasurer. Dr. Anurag Gupta (Advocate) was appointed Legal Advisor.

Gopal Dutt Sharma, Organizing Secretary of the Himachal Union of Journalists, made a special appearance on the occasion and congratulated the newly elected team. The Doon Press Club is known for its journalism, social activities, media engagement, and public awareness campaigns, and has been playing a positive role in the region for years. Several senior journalists, including former president Shyam Lal Pundir, Kuldeep Gatwal, former general secretary Tarun Khanna, former treasurer Manjeet Singh, Rajendra Sharma, Sanjeev Sharma, and Rajesh Kumar, were present at the meeting.

Meanwhile, the grand finale of the Sirmaur Hills Winter Cricket Championship in Paonta Sahib concluded today. Attractive prizes of ₹2 lakh were announced for the winning team and ₹1 lakh for the runner-up. Notably, both finalist teams, Dhartidhar and Kansar, were comprised of youth from the Dhartidhar region, bringing honor to the region once again. The Dhartidhar region achieved remarkable achievements in both journalism and sports in a single day, proving its talent is poised to shine in every field.
