पांवटा साहिब में यातायात नियमों के उल्लंघन और अवैध खनन सामग्री ढुलाई की लगातार मिल रही शिकायतों के बाद पुलिस ने बड़ी कार्रवाई करते हुए 22 टिप्परों को जब्त किया है। एसआईयू और पुलिस की संयुक्त टीम ने देर रात शहर के विभिन्न मार्गों पर विशेष जांच अभियान चलाकर नो एंट्री का उल्लंघन और ओवरलोडिंग करने वाले वाहनों के चालान किए तथा उन्हें अदालत में पेशी के लिए भेज दिया।
पुलिस के अनुसार औद्योगिक क्षेत्र, बद्रीपुर मार्ग, विश्वकर्मा चौक, रामपुरघाट और निर्माण स्थलों के आसपास विशेष नाकाबंदी की गई थी। जांच के दौरान कई टिप्पर नो एंट्री समय में शहर में प्रवेश करते और क्षमता से अधिक भार ढोते पाए गए, जिन पर मौके पर ही कार्रवाई की गई।
एसपी सिरमौर एन.एस. नेगी ने स्पष्ट चेतावनी देते हुए कहा कि अवैध टिप्पर संचालन और यातायात नियमों की अनदेखी करने वालों को किसी भी प्रकार की रियायत नहीं दी जाएगी। उन्होंने बताया कि यह अभियान आगे भी लगातार जारी रहेगा और नियमों का उल्लंघन करने वाले वाहन चालकों के खिलाफ सख्त कानूनी कार्रवाई की जाएगी। स्थानीय लोगों ने पुलिस की कार्रवाई का स्वागत किया है। उनका कहना है कि देर शाम से लेकर सुबह तक उत्तराखंड, उत्तर प्रदेश और हरियाणा से आने वाले टिप्परों के कारण विश्वकर्मा चौक, बद्रीपुर चौक और यमुना पुल क्षेत्र में भारी जाम की स्थिति बन जाती है। कई बार वाहनों की लंबी कतारें हिमाचल-उत्तराखंड सीमा तक लग जाती हैं, जिससे आम लोगों को घंटों परेशानी झेलनी पड़ती है। लोगों ने यह भी चिंता जताई है कि यमुना पुल पर भारी वाहनों की लंबी कतारें पुल की सुरक्षा के लिए भी खतरा बन रही हैं। पुलिस ने वाहन चालकों से निर्धारित समय और भार सीमा का पालन करने की अपील करते हुए चेतावनी दी है कि नियम तोड़ने वालों के खिलाफ भविष्य में भी कड़ी कार्रवाई जारी रहेगी।

Following persistent complaints regarding traffic violations and the transportation of illegally mined material, the police in Paonta Sahib have launched a major operation, seizing 22 tipper trucks. A joint team comprising the SIU and local police conducted a special late-night inspection drive across various city routes; they issued challans to vehicles violating “no-entry” restrictions and overloading limits, and processed the cases for court appearances.
According to the police, special checkpoints were set up in the industrial area, along the Badripur road, and near Vishwakarma Chowk, Rampurghat, and various construction sites. During the checks, several tippers were found entering the city during restricted hours and carrying loads exceeding their capacity; immediate action was taken against them on the spot. Sirmaur SP N.S. Negi issued a stern warning, stating that no leniency would be shown to those operating illegal tippers or disregarding traffic regulations. He affirmed that this drive would continue and that strict legal action would be taken against drivers who violate the rules. Local residents have welcomed the police action. They noted that from late evening until morning, tippers arriving from Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana cause massive traffic jams at Vishwakarma Chowk, Badripur Chowk, and the Yamuna Bridge area. Long queues of vehicles often stretch all the way to the Himachal-Uttarakhand border, causing hours of inconvenience for the general public. Residents also expressed concern that the long lines of heavy vehicles on the Yamuna Bridge pose a threat to the bridge’s structural safety. While appealing to drivers to adhere to designated timings and load limits, the police warned that strict action against violators would continue in the future.
