पुलिस थाना पुरुवाला के अंतर्गत पुलिस बूथ रामपुरघाट में तैनात मुख्य आरक्षी प्रदीप कुमार के साथ कथित मारपीट और सरकारी कार्य में बाधा पहुंचाने के मामले में पुलिस ने पिता-पुत्र समेत तीन लोगों के खिलाफ मामला दर्ज किया है। मामले में दो आरोपियों को गिरफ्तार कर लिया गया है। पुलिस द्वारा दी जानकारी के अनुसार शाम को मुख्य आरक्षी प्रदीप कुमार रामपुरघाट, कुंजा मतरालियों और पहाड़ी कॉलोनी क्षेत्र में यातायात जांच पर था । इसी दौरान उन्होंने बिना हेलमेट चल रही एक स्कूटी को जांच के लिए रोका। चालक मोहित से लाइसेंस मांगा गया तो उसने बताया कि उसने लाइसेंस के लिए आवेदन किया है, लेकिन अभी बना नहीं है। इसके बाद पुलिस ने मोटर वाहन अधिनियम के तहत चालान कर दिया। आरोप है कि चालान से नाराज होकर मोहित ने किसी को फोन किया, जिसके बाद उसका पिता सचिन मौके पर पहुंच गया। पुलिस के अनुसार सचिन, मोहित और महिला सविता ने मिलकर मुख्य आरक्षी के साथ धक्का-मुक्की की और थप्पड़ मारे। आरोप है कि मारपीट के दौरान सचिन ने पुलिसकर्मी के कान में पहनी सोने की बाली भी छीन ली, जिससे उनके कान और गले में चोटें आईं। घटना के बाद तीनों आरोपी मौके से फरार हो गए। पुलिस ने मामला दर्ज कर जांच शुरू की और आरोपी सचिन को गिरफ्तार कर न्यायालय में पेश किया, जहां से उसे तीन दिन के पुलिस रिमांड पर भेजा गया है। वहीं आरोपी सविता को भी गिरफ्तार कर लिया गया है, जिसे सोमवार को अदालत में पेश किया जाएगा। मामले में आगे की जांच जारी है। पूरे मामले की पुष्ठी एस॰पी सिरमौर एन॰एस नेगी ने की है!

The police have registered a case against three individuals—including a father and his son—for the alleged assault on Head Constable Pradeep Kumar and for obstructing official duty. The incident occurred at the Rampurghat police booth, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Puruwala police station. Two of the accused have been arrested. According to the police, Head Constable Pradeep Kumar was conducting traffic checks in the Rampurghat, Kunja Matralion, and Pahadi Colony areas in the evening. During the operation, he stopped a scooter rider who was not wearing a helmet. When the rider, Mohit, was asked to produce his license, he stated that he had applied for one but it had not yet been issued. Consequently, the police issued a challan under the Motor Vehicles Act. It is alleged that, angered by the challan, Mohit made a phone call, prompting his father, Sachin, to arrive at the scene. Police state that Sachin, Mohit, and a woman named Savita collectively manhandled and slapped the Head Constable. It is further alleged that during the altercation, Sachin snatched a gold earring from the policeman’s ear, causing injuries to his ear and neck. All three accused fled the scene after the incident. The police registered a case and initiated an investigation; accused Sachin was arrested and produced in court, which remanded him to police custody for three days. Accused Savita has also been arrested and is scheduled to be produced in court on Monday. Further investigation into the matter is underway. The incident has been confirmed by Sirmaur SP N.S. Negi.
