भारतीय जनता पार्टी के प्रदेश प्रवक्ता एवं पूर्व विधायक बलदेव तोमर ने कहा कि पंचायती राज चुनावों में मिली करारी हार के बाद कांग्रेस सरकार पूरी तरह बौखला गई है और अब शिलाई विधानसभा क्षेत्र के साथ राजनीतिक प्रतिशोध की भावना से कार्य कर रही है। उन्होंने कहा कि डिग्री कॉलेज रोनहाट के विलय का निर्णय क्षेत्र की जनता, विद्यार्थियों और अभिभावकों की भावनाओं पर सीधा प्रहार है। बलदेव तोमर ने कहा कि शिलाई विधानसभा कोई प्रयोगशाला नहीं है, जहां कांग्रेस सरकार अपनी विफल नीतियों और राजनीतिक बदले की भावना के प्रयोग करती रहे। चुनावों में जनता ने कांग्रेस को स्पष्ट संदेश दिया है, लेकिन सरकार जनादेश का सम्मान करने के बजाय क्षेत्र के संस्थानों को कमजोर करने में जुट गई है। उन्होंने कहा कि सबसे हैरानी की बात यह है कि सरकार द्वारा घोषित ₹5000 मासिक स्टाइपेंड केवल उन विद्यार्थियों तक सीमित रखा गया है जो नाहन कॉलेज में प्रवेश लेंगे। यदि कोई छात्र अपनी सुविधा के अनुसार किसी अन्य नजदीकी सरकारी महाविद्यालय में प्रवेश लेना चाहता है तो उसे इस सुविधा से वंचित कर दिया जाएगा। यह छात्र हित में लिया गया निर्णय नहीं बल्कि विद्यार्थियों को मजबूर करने और आंकड़ों का खेल खेलने का प्रयास है।

तोमर ने कहा कि रोनहाट जैसा दूरदराज़ क्षेत्र पहले ही शैक्षणिक सुविधाओं की चुनौतियों से जूझ रहा है। ऐसे समय में कॉलेज को मजबूत करने के बजाय उसका अस्तित्व समाप्त करने का प्रयास दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण है। सरकार को बताना चाहिए कि यह शिक्षा सुधार है या फिर चुनावी हार का बदला। उन्होंने कहा कि क्षेत्र की जनता के मन में यह आशंका लगातार बढ़ रही है कि आज रोनहाट कॉलेज को निशाना बनाया गया है, कल कफोटा एसडीएम कार्यालय, कमरऊ (तिलोरधार) बीडीओ कार्यालय तथा अन्य महत्वपूर्ण संस्थानों पर भी सरकार की नजर पड़ सकती है। यदि ऐसा हुआ तो भाजपा और क्षेत्र की जनता इसका पुरजोर विरोध करेगी। बलदेव तोमर ने मुख्यमंत्री सुखविंदर सिंह सुक्खु से मांग की कि रोनहाट कॉलेज के विलय संबंधी निर्णय को तत्काल प्रभाव से वापस लिया जाए तथा शिलाई विधानसभा क्षेत्र के संस्थानों को कमजोर करने की राजनीति बंद की जाए। उन्होंने कहा कि शिलाई की जनता अपने अधिकारों, संस्थानों और आने वाली पीढ़ियों के भविष्य के साथ किसी भी प्रकार का खिलवाड़ स्वीकार नहीं करेगी।उन्होंने कहा कि कांग्रेस सरकार यह भ्रम छोड़ दे कि राजनीतिक प्रतिशोध के माध्यम से वह जनता की आवाज को दबा सकती है। शिलाई की जनता जागरूक है और अपने क्षेत्र के हितों की रक्षा के लिए हर स्तर पर संघर्ष करने को तैयार है।

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State Spokesperson and former MLA Baldev Tomar stated that the Congress government has become completely rattled following its crushing defeat in the Panchayati Raj elections and is now acting out of political vendetta against the Shillai Assembly constituency. He remarked that the decision to merge the Degree College at Ronhat is a direct blow to the sentiments of the local people, students, and parents. Baldev Tomar asserted that the Shillai constituency is not a laboratory for the Congress government to experiment with its failed policies and political spite. The public delivered a clear message to the Congress in the elections, yet instead of respecting the mandate, the government has set out to weaken the region’s institutions. He expressed astonishment that the government’s announced monthly stipend of ₹5,000 is restricted solely to students enrolling in Nahan College. If a student wishes to enroll in another nearby government college for their convenience, they will be deprived of this benefit. This decision is not in the students’ interest; rather, it is an attempt to coerce students and manipulate statistics.

Tomar noted that a remote area like Ronhat is already grappling with challenges regarding educational facilities. At such a time, the attempt to eliminate the college’s existence instead of strengthening it is unfortunate. The government must clarify whether this is an educational reform or an act of revenge for the electoral defeat. He added that there is growing apprehension among the local people that just as Ronhat College has been targeted today, the government might soon set its sights on the Kafota SDM office, the Kamrau (Tilor-dhar) BDO office, and other vital institutions. Should this happen, the BJP and the local populace will vehemently oppose it. Baldev Tomar demanded that Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu immediately withdraw the decision regarding the merger of Ronhat College and put an end to the politics of undermining institutions in the Shillai Assembly constituency. He stated that the people of Shillai would not tolerate any tampering with their rights, institutions, or the future of coming generations. He added that the Congress government should shed the illusion that it can silence the voice of the people through political vendetta. The people of Shillai are vigilant and prepared to fight at every level to safeguard the interests of their region.
