हिमाचल प्रदेश के औद्योगिक क्षेत्र बद्दी की पुलिस ने राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर एक बड़ी उपलब्धि हासिल की है। वर्ष 2025 में गन कल्चर और अवैध हथियारों के खिलाफ चलाए गए विशेष अभियान “ऑपरेशन गनडाउन” को पुलिस एवं सुरक्षा श्रेणी में प्रतिष्ठित Final Silver SKOCH Award से सम्मानित किया गया है। यह पुरस्कार कानून व्यवस्था और जनसुरक्षा के प्रति बद्दी पुलिस की उत्कृष्ट प्रतिबद्धता का प्रमाण है हिमाचल के सीमावर्ती क्षेत्रों में बढ़ते गन कल्चर और सोशल मीडिया पर हथियारों के साथ धमकी भरे पोस्ट डालने की घटनाओं से जनता और उद्योग जगत में काफी डर पैदा हो गया था। इसे जड़ से खत्म करने के लिए बद्दी पुलिस ने तकनीकी टीमों का गठन किया, जिन्होंने 1000 से अधिक सोशल मीडिया अकाउंट्स की निगरानी की। सितम्बर 2025 में पुलिस ने बड़ी कार्रवाई करते हुए 13 मामले दर्ज किए और 13 आरोपियों को अवैध हथियारों के साथ गिरफ्तार किया। तकनीकी निगरानी की मदद से उन आरोपियों को भी पकड़ा गया जो अन्य राज्यों में शरण लिए हुए थे।

ऑपरेशन गनडाउन के अलावा बद्दी पुलिस ने अन्य क्षेत्रों में भी सराहनीय कार्य किया है। महिलाओं को अपराधों के प्रति जागरूक करने के लिए चलाए गए “Prevention of Crime & Awareness” प्रोजेक्ट को SKOCH Order of Merit (Semi-finalist) से नवाजा गया है। इसके साथ ही, पुलिस ने अवैध खनन के विरुद्ध पूरे हिमाचल प्रदेश में सबसे अधिक मामले दर्ज कर मिसाल पेश की है। बता दें कि SKOCH Award को भारत का सर्वोच्च स्वतंत्र नागरिक सम्मान माना जाता है। यह पुरस्कार एक कठिन चार महीने की मूल्यांकन प्रक्रिया, विशेषज्ञों की गहन जाँच और जूरी के विचार-विमर्श के बाद ही प्रदान किया जाता है। बद्दी पुलिस की इस सफलता ने न केवल जिला पुलिस बल्कि पूरे हिमाचल प्रदेश पुलिस विभाग का नाम देश भर में रोशन किया है।

Baddi Police Achieves Dual Success: “Operation Gundown” and Women’s Safety Project Earn National Honors

The police force of Baddi—an industrial hub in Himachal Pradesh—has achieved a major milestone at the national level. “Operation Gundown,” a special campaign launched in 2025 to combat gun culture and illegal weaponry, has been honored with the prestigious Final Silver SKOCH Award in the ‘Police and Security’ category. This award stands as a testament to Baddi Police’s exemplary commitment to maintaining law and order and ensuring public safety. The rising prevalence of gun culture in Himachal’s border regions—coupled with incidents involving threatening posts featuring weapons on social media—had instilled significant fear among both the general public and the industrial sector. To eradicate this menace at its roots, Baddi Police constituted specialized technical teams that monitored over 1,000 social media accounts. In September 2025, in a major crackdown, the police registered 13 cases and arrested 13 accused individuals found in possession of illegal weapons. With the aid of technical surveillance, the police were also able to apprehend accused persons who had sought refuge in other states.

Beyond “Operation Gundown,” Baddi Police has demonstrated commendable performance in other domains as well. The “Prevention of Crime & Awareness” project—an initiative aimed at sensitizing women about various crimes—has been conferred with the SKOCH Order of Merit (Semi-finalist) distinction. Furthermore, the police have set a precedent by registering the highest number of cases against illegal mining across the entire state of Himachal Pradesh. It is worth noting that the SKOCH Award is regarded as India’s highest independent civilian honor. This award is bestowed only after a rigorous four-month-long evaluation process, intensive scrutiny by experts, and deliberations by a jury. This success achieved by Baddi Police has brought laurels not only to the district police force but to the entire Himachal Pradesh Police Department across the nation.
