पांवटा साहिब–शिलाई राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग NH-707 पर कफोटा स्थित आईटीआई के समीप शनिवार को एक दर्दनाक सड़क दुर्घटना सामने आई। यहां ऑल्टो कार और बाइक की आमने-सामने टक्कर हो गई। टक्कर इतनी भीषण थी कि बाइक सवार एक युवक की मौके पर ही मौत हो गई, जबकि दूसरा युवक गंभीर रूप से घायल हो गया।दुर्घटना में बाइक नंबर HP-17C-0985 बुरी तरह क्षतिग्रस्त हो गई। मृतक की पहचान रघुवीर पुत्र मनसाराम, निवासी जाजला के रूप में हुई है। वहीं बाइक पर सवार दूसरा युवक संजय पुत्र नैन सिंह गंभीर रूप से घायल हो गया, जिसे स्थानीय लोगों की मदद से तुरंत उपचार के लिए अस्पताल पहुंचाया गया, जिसे नाहन रेफर किया गया है।

हादसे की सूचना मिलते ही पुलिस मौके पर पहुंची और यातायात को नियंत्रित करते हुए राहत एवं बचाव कार्य शुरू किया। दुर्घटना की पुष्टि करते हुए निश्चित सिंह नेगी ने बताया कि पुलिस ने शव को कब्जे में लेकर पोस्टमार्टम की प्रक्रिया आरंभ कर दी है। उन्होंने बताया कि मामले में आवश्यक कानूनी कार्रवाई करते हुए दुर्घटना के कारणों की जांच शुरू कर दी गई है। इस हादसे के बाद क्षेत्र में शोक की लहर है। पुलिस ने वाहन चालकों से पहाड़ी सड़कों पर सावधानीपूर्वक वाहन चलाने और यातायात नियमों का पालन करने की अपील की है।

Tragic accident on NH-707: Young man killed in Alto-motorcycle collision, one seriously injured.

A tragic road accident occurred on Saturday near the ITI in Kafota, on the Paonta Sahib-Shillai National Highway (NH-707). An Alto car and a motorcycle collided head-on. The collision was so severe that one young man on the motorcycle died on the spot, while the other was seriously injured. The motorcycle, bearing registration number HP-17C-0985, was badly damaged in the accident. The deceased has been identified as Raghuveer, son of Mansaram, a resident of Jajla. The other young man on the motorcycle, Sanjay, son of Nain Singh, sustained serious injuries and was immediately rushed to the hospital with the help of local residents. He has since been referred to Nahan for further treatment.

Upon receiving news of the accident, the police arrived at the scene and began relief and rescue operations while controlling traffic. Confirming the accident, Nishit Singh Negi stated that the police have taken possession of the body and initiated the post-mortem process. He added that necessary legal action has been taken, and an investigation into the cause of the accident has been launched. The incident has cast a pall of grief over the area. The police have appealed to drivers to drive cautiously on hilly roads and to follow traffic rules.
