विकासनगर- जन संघर्ष मोर्चा अध्यक्ष एवं जीएमवीएन के पूर्व उपाध्यक्ष रघुनाथ सिंह नेगी ने पत्रकारों से वार्ता करते हुए कहा कि हिमालयन हॉस्पिटल, जॉली ग्रांट,जोकि प्रदेश का एक नामी अस्पताल है, के द्वारा कैंसर पीड़ित (मेटास्टैटिक Her-2 पॉजिटिव) मरीजों को सिर्फ अस्पताल द्वारा ही उपलब्ध कराए गए इंजेक्शन लगवाने के नाम पर सरेआम लूट की जा रही है,जिसको बर्दाश्त नहीं किया जा सकता है | नेगी ने कहा कि अस्पताल प्रबंधन द्वारा एक पॉलिसी अख्तियार कर स्तन कैंसर पीड़ित मरीजों को मोनोक्लोनल एंटीबॉडी (कैंसर की कोशिकाओं को रोकने आदि में काम आने वाला वाइल/ इंजेक्शन) नामक एक इंजेक्शन 68-70 हजार में अपने हॉस्पिटल के माध्यम से लगाया जा रहा है, जबकि वही इंजेक्शन खुले बाजार में 32-34 हजार में स्कीम के तहत उपलब्ध है | पूर्व में अस्पताल प्रबंधन द्वारा बाहर से खरीदे गए इंजेक्शन भी मरीजों को लगाए जाने की सुविधा थी, लेकिन अपना हित साधने के चक्कर में मरीजों को ये सुविधा बंद कर दी गई |

नेगी ने कहा कि एक और जहां कैंसर जैसी घातक बीमारी से मरीज व उसका परिवार जूझ रहा है, वहीं दूसरी ओर यह लूट और भी कष्टकारी/ जानलेवा साबित हो रही है | काबिल- ए-गौर है कि अगर एक पेशेंट को एक- दो इंजेक्शन लगते तो मरीज व मरीज के परिजन सहन कर सकते थे, लेकिन एक मरीज को ये इंजेक्शन लगभग 20 दिन के अंतराल में लगते हैं, जोकि काफी लगते है; ऐसे में मरीज का घर बिकने की नौबत आ जाती है| मोर्चा ने अस्पताल प्रबंधन को चेतावनी देते हुए कहा कि इस व्यवस्था को जल्द सुधारने का काम करें वरना ईंट से ईट बजाने का काम किया जाएगा | पत्रकार वार्ता में- विजय राम शर्मा व पछवादून अध्यक्ष अमित जैन मौजूद थे |

Himalayan Hospital Accused of Overcharging Cancer Patients for Injections: Morcha Raises Allegations

In a serious allegation, Raghunath Singh Negi, President of Jan Sangharsh Morcha and former Vice-Chairman of GMVN, has accused Himalayan Hospital, Jolly Grant—one of the state’s reputed hospitals—of openly overcharging cancer patients in the name of providing injections.

Addressing a press conference, Negi claimed that cancer patients (Metastatic HER-2 positive) are being forced to receive injections only through the hospital, leading to alleged financial exploitation. He stated that such practices are unacceptable.

According to Negi, the hospital administration has adopted a policy under which breast cancer patients are being administered a monoclonal antibody injection (used to block cancer cell growth) at a cost of ₹68,000–₹70,000 per dose through the hospital. However, the same injection is reportedly available in the open market at a significantly lower price of ₹32,000–₹34,000 under certain schemes.

He further alleged that earlier, patients were allowed to use injections purchased from outside, but this facility has now been discontinued by the hospital, allegedly to serve its own financial interests.

Negi emphasized that while patients and their families are already struggling with a life-threatening disease like cancer, such alleged overcharging adds to their burden and suffering.

He pointed out that this issue becomes even more serious as the injection is required at intervals of approximately 20 days, and multiple doses are needed over time. This, he said, puts immense financial pressure on patients, sometimes pushing families to the brink of selling their homes.

The Morcha has issued a warning to the hospital management, demanding immediate corrective action. Failing this, they have threatened to launch a strong agitation.
