पांवटा साहिब में नगर परिषद के वार्ड नंबर-1 फ्रेंड्स कॉलोनी स्थित सरकारी पार्क को जेसीबी से तहस-नहस करने और सामान चोरी करने के मामले में पुलिस को बड़ी सफलता मिली है। पुलिस ने कार्रवाई करते हुए मुख्य आरोपी गुरदीप सिंह (निवासी वार्ड-3, बद्रीपुर) और उसके सहयोगी जयदीप सिंह (निवासी वार्ड-1) को गिरफ्तार कर लिया है। पुलिस ने वारदात में इस्तेमाल एक जेसीबी और दो ट्रैक्टर भी कब्जे में ले लिए हैं। मामला पिछले साल 23 अक्टूबर 2025 का है। नगर परिषद के कनिष्ठ अभियंता (JE) ने शिकायत दर्ज कराई थी कि फ्रेंड्स कॉलोनी स्थित पार्क में कुछ शरारती तत्वों ने जेसीबी चलाकर पार्क की चारदीवारी, रास्ता और टिन शेड को पूरी तरह ध्वस्त कर दिया है। आरोपी न केवल तोड़फोड़ की, बल्कि पार्क में लगा सरकारी सामान भी चोरी कर ले गए। इस शिकायत पर पुलिस ने एफआईआर दर्ज कर जांच शुरू की थी। पुलिस जांच में यह चौंकाने वाला तथ्य सामने आया कि जिस भूमि पर पार्क बना था, उसके मूल मालिक की मृत्यु के बाद उसके वारिस गुरदीप सिंह ने बिना किसी कानूनी आदेश या अदालत की प्रक्रिया के ही पार्क को हटाने की साजिश रची।

उसने अपने साथी जयदीप के साथ मिलकर कानून हाथ में लिया और सरकारी संपत्ति को जमींदोज कर दिया। पुलिस ने इलाके में लगे सीसीटीवी कैमरों की फुटेज खंगाली, जिससे आरोपियों की संलिप्तता स्पष्ट हुई। पर्याप्त सबूत जुटाने के बाद 2 फरवरी को पुलिस ने दोनों को धर दबोचा। फिलहाल दोनों आरोपी पुलिस रिमांड पर हैं। पुलिस अब उस चोरी हुए सामान की तलाश कर रही है जिसे पार्क से उखाड़ा गया था।एसपी सिरमौर निश्चित सिंह नेगी ने कड़े शब्दों में चेतावनी देते हुए कहा कि “सरकारी संपत्ति सार्वजनिक हित के लिए होती है और इसे नुकसान पहुँचाना एक गंभीर और गैर-जमानती अपराध है। पांवटा साहिब मामले में संलिप्त किसी भी दोषी को बख्शा नहीं जाएगा। पुलिस की यह सख्त कार्रवाई उन सभी के लिए एक स्पष्ट संदेश है जो कानून को अपने हाथ में लेने की कोशिश करते हैं। भविष्य में भी सरकारी संपत्ति को क्षति पहुँचाने वालों के खिलाफ इसी प्रकार का कड़ा रुख अपनाया जाएगा।”

The police in Paonta Sahib have achieved a major breakthrough in the case of the destruction and theft of equipment from a government park located in Friends Colony, Ward No. 1 of the Municipal Council. The police have arrested the main accused, Gurdeep Singh (resident of Ward-3, Badripur), and his accomplice, Jaydeep Singh (resident of Ward-1). The police have also seized a JCB and two tractors used in the crime. The incident took place on October 23, 2025. The Junior Engineer (JE) of the Municipal Council had filed a complaint stating that some miscreants had used a JCB to completely demolish the boundary wall, pathway, and tin shed of the park in Friends Colony. The accused not only vandalized the park but also stole government property from it. Based on this complaint, the police registered an FIR and launched an investigation. The police investigation revealed the shocking fact that after the death of the original owner of the land on which the park was built, his heir, Gurdeep Singh, conspired to remove the park without any legal order or court proceedings.

He, along with his accomplice Jaideep, took the law into their own hands and vandalized government property. The police examined the footage from CCTV cameras installed in the area, which clearly showed the involvement of the accused. After gathering sufficient evidence, the police arrested both of them on February 2nd. Both accused are currently in police custody. The police are now searching for the stolen items that were uprooted from the park. SP Sirmaur Nishant Singh Negi issued a strong warning, stating, “Government property is for the public good, and damaging it is a serious and non-bailable offense. No one involved in the Paonta Sahib case will be spared. This strict action by the police sends a clear message to all those who try to take the law into their own hands. A similar tough stance will be taken against anyone who damages government property in the future.”
