जिला सिरमौर पुलिस की स्पेशल डिटेक्शन टीम ने मादक पदार्थ तस्करी के खिलाफ बड़ी कार्रवाई करते हुए पांवटा साहिब में एक व्यक्ति को 8.54 ग्राम स्मैक के साथ गिरफ्तार किया है। पुलिस ने आरोपी के खिलाफ एनडीपीएस एक्ट के तहत मामला दर्ज कर जांच शुरू कर दी है। जानकारी के अनुसार, स्पेशल डिटेक्शन टीम पांवटा साहिब क्षेत्र में गश्त पर थी। इसी दौरान निर्माणाधीन भूपपुर पुल से पांवटा साहिब की ओर आ रहे एक मोटरसाइकिल सवार को संदेह के आधार पर रोका गया। तलाशी लेने पर बाइक चालक के कब्जे से 8.54 ग्राम स्मैक बरामद की गई।आरोपी की पहचान ताहिर पुत्र निवासी फतेहपुर, डाकघर फैजाबाद, तहसील सहारनपुर (उत्तर प्रदेश) के रूप में हुई है। पुलिस ने आरोपी को मौके पर ही गिरफ्तार कर लिया।एसपी सिरमौर एनएस नेगी ने मामले की पुष्टि करते हुए बताया कि पुलिस थाना पांवटा साहिब में आरोपी के खिलाफ धारा 21, 61 और 85 एनडीपीएस एक्ट के तहत अभियोग दर्ज किया गया है। पुलिस यह भी जांच कर रही है कि आरोपी स्मैक कहां से लाया था और इसे कहां सप्लाई किया जाना था।

The Special Detection Team of Sirmaur district police has taken major action against drug trafficking, arresting a man in Paonta Sahib with 8.54 grams of heroin. Police have registered a case against the accused under the NDPS Act and have started an investigation. According to the information, the Special Detection Team was patrolling the Paonta Sahib area. During this time, a motorcyclist coming from the direction of the under-construction Bhupur bridge towards Paonta Sahib was stopped on suspicion. Upon searching, 8.54 grams of heroin were recovered from the possession of the motorcycle rider. The accused has been identified as Tahir, son of [father’s name], a resident of Fatehpur, Post Office Faizabad, Tehsil Saharanpur (Uttar Pradesh). Police arrested the accused on the spot. SP Sirmaur NS Negi confirmed the incident, stating that a case has been registered against the accused at Paonta Sahib Police Station under Sections 21, 61, and 85 of the NDPS Act. Police are also investigating where the accused obtained the heroin and where it was intended to be supplied.
