वीरता, कर्तव्यनिष्ठा और देशभक्ति का प्रतीक रहे भारतीय सेना के जवान ग्रेनेडियर कपिल आज पूरे सैन्य सम्मान के साथ पंचतत्व में विलीन हो गए। छुट्टी पर घर आए जवान के साथ हुई यह दुःखद घटना पूरे क्षेत्र के लिए हृदयविदारक साबित हुई। जानकारी के अनुसार, 8 जनवरी को उत्तराखंड के सेलाकुई में मोटरसाइकिल सड़क दुर्घटना में ग्रेनेडियर कपिल गंभीर रूप से घायल हो गए थे। उन्हें तत्काल ग्राफिक एरा अस्पताल सेलाकुई में भर्ती करवाया गया, बाद में इलाज के लिए मिलिट्री अस्पताल देहरादून रेफर किया गया। बीते कई दिनों से वे जीवन और मृत्यु के बीच संघर्ष कर रहे थे, लेकिन अंततः यह जांबाज सैनिक जिंदगी की आखिरी जंग हार गया। जैसे ही उनके शहीद होने की सूचना गांव और क्षेत्र में पहुंची, सिरमौर जिले के शिलाई क्षेत्र में शोक की लहर दौड़ गई। ग्रेनेडियर कपिल का जन्म 02 जून 1998 को गांव पटना, डाकघर बिंडला-दिगवा, तहसील शिलाई, जिला सिरमौर में पिता पंच राम और माता जयंती देवी के घर हुआ था। वे अपने माता-पिता के छह बच्चों में सबसे बड़े, होनहार और जिम्मेदार पुत्र थे।

परिवार उनके उज्ज्वल भविष्य और शीघ्र विवाह के सपने संजोए बैठा था। ग्रेनेडियर कपिल 18 सितंबर 2018 को ग्रेनेडियर रेजिमेंट की 16वीं बटालियन में भर्ती हुए थे और वर्तमान में 55 राष्ट्रीय राइफल्स के अंतर्गत जम्मू-कश्मीर में तैनात थे। पिछले सात वर्षों से वे निष्ठा और समर्पण के साथ देश की सेवा कर रहे थे। आज सुबह उनकी पार्थिव देह को भूतपूर्व सैनिक संगठन पांवटा-शिलाई और सैन्य टुकड़ी द्वारा पांवटा साहिब में पूरे सम्मान के साथ श्रद्धांजलि दी गई। “शहीद कपिल अमर रहें” के नारों के बीच काफिला उनके पैतृक गांव पटना के लिए रवाना हुआ। गांव पहुंचते ही माहौल गमगीन हो गया और परिजनों का रो-रो कर बुरा हाल था। गांव में पूरे सैन्य सम्मान के साथ अंतिम संस्कार किया गया। सैन्य टुकड़ी ने वीर जवान को अंतिम सलामी दी और एक और माटी का लाल पंचतत्व में विलीन हो गया। इस अवसर पर भूतपूर्व सैनिक संगठन पांवटा-शिलाई के पूर्व अध्यक्ष एवं सलाहकार वीरेंद्र चौहान, उपाध्यक्ष रामभज धीमान, मीडिया प्रभारी जगदीश, सहित अनेक पूर्व सैनिक, सैनिक, जनप्रतिनिधि और क्षेत्र के सैकड़ों गणमान्य लोग उपस्थित रहे। सभी ने दिवंगत आत्मा की शांति और शोक संतप्त परिवार को यह अथाह दु:ख सहने की शक्ति प्रदान करने की प्रार्थना की। देश अपने इस वीर सपूत की बहादुरी, सेवा और बलिदान के लिए सदैव कृतज्ञ रहेगा।

Grenadier Kapil, a symbol of bravery, dedication, and patriotism, was laid to rest today with full military honors. This tragic incident involving the soldier, who was home on leave, has deeply saddened the entire region. According to reports, Grenadier Kapil was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident in Selakui, Uttarakhand, on January 8th. He was immediately admitted to Graphic Era Hospital in Selakui and later referred to the Military Hospital in Dehradun for further treatment. He had been battling for his life for several days, but ultimately, this brave soldier lost his final battle. As soon as the news of his martyrdom reached his village and the surrounding area, a wave of grief swept through the Shillai region of Sirmaur district. Grenadier Kapil was born on June 2, 1998, in Patna village, Bindla-Digwa Post Office, Shillai Tehsil, Sirmaur District, to his parents, Panch Ram and Jayanti Devi. He was the eldest of his parents’ six children and a bright and responsible son.

The family had been cherishing dreams of his bright future and early marriage. Grenadier Kapil had joined the 16th Battalion of the Grenadier Regiment on September 18, 2018, and was currently posted in Jammu and Kashmir under the 55 National Rifles. He had been serving the nation with loyalty and dedication for the past seven years. This morning, his mortal remains were paid full honors in Paonta Sahib by the Ex-Servicemen Organization Paonta-Shillai and a military contingent. Amidst slogans of “Martyr Kapil Amar Rahe” (Long Live Martyr Kapil), the convoy departed for his ancestral village, Patna. Upon reaching the village, the atmosphere became somber, and his family members were inconsolable. The last rites were performed in the village with full military honors. The military contingent gave a final salute to the brave soldier, and another son of the soil merged with the elements. Present on the occasion were former president and advisor of the Ex-Servicemen Organization Paonta-Shillai, Virendra Chauhan, Vice President Rambhaj Dhiman, Media In-charge Jagdish, along with numerous ex-servicemen, soldiers, public representatives, and hundreds of dignitaries from the area. Everyone prayed for the peace of the departed soul and for strength for the bereaved family to bear this immense grief. The nation will forever be grateful for the bravery, service, and sacrifice of this valiant son.
