हिमाचल प्रदेश में नशीले पदार्थों के खिलाफ सख़्त रुख अपनाते हुए सरकार और पुलिस प्रशासन ने एक अहम कार्रवाई की है। शिमला में तैनात ट्रैफिक पुलिस के एक कांस्टेबल को चिट्टा के साथ पकड़े जाने के बाद तत्काल प्रभाव से सेवा से बर्खास्त कर दिया गया है। इस कदम को विभागीय अनुशासन और जनता के भरोसे को बनाए रखने की दिशा में बड़ा संदेश माना जा रहा है। प्राप्त जानकारी के अनुसार 22 जनवरी की तड़के करीब 2:30 बजे शोघी बैरियर पर पुलिस की नियमित नाकाबंदी और चेकिंग चल रही थी। इसी दौरान चंडीगढ़ से शिमला की ओर आ रहे एक वाहन को जांच के लिए रोका गया। वाहन में राहुल कुमार, गौरव और विकास सवार थे।

तलाशी के दौरान पुलिस ने उनके कब्जे से कुल 9.480 ग्राम चिट्टा बरामद किया। जांच में सामने आया कि आरोपी राहुल कुमार हिमाचल प्रदेश पुलिस में कांस्टेबल के पद पर कार्यरत था और शिमला में ट्रैफिक पुलिस में तैनात था। ट्रैफिक व्यवस्था की जिम्मेदारी निभाने वाले पुलिसकर्मी का नशे के मामले में संलिप्त पाया जाना विभाग की छवि के लिए गंभीर झटका माना जा रहा है। पुलिस ने मामले में एनडीपीएस अधिनियम के तहत अभियोग दर्ज कर राहुल कुमार और गौरव को गिरफ्तार कर लिया है। वहीं, चिट्टा की आपूर्ति कहां से हुई और इसके पीछे किसी संगठित नेटवर्क की भूमिका है या नहीं, इसकी गहन जांच जारी है।

Taking a strict stance against drug trafficking in Himachal Pradesh, the government and police administration have taken significant action. A traffic police constable stationed in Shimla has been dismissed from service with immediate effect after being caught with heroin (Chitta). This move is being seen as a strong message aimed at maintaining departmental discipline and public trust. According to reports, a routine police roadblock and checking operation was underway at the Shoghi barrier around 2:30 AM on January 22nd. During this operation, a vehicle traveling from Chandigarh towards Shimla was stopped for inspection. The vehicle was occupied by Rahul Kumar, Gaurav, and Vikas.

During the search, police recovered a total of 9.480 grams of heroin from their possession. The investigation revealed that the accused, Rahul Kumar, was working as a constable in the Himachal Pradesh Police and was posted in the traffic police in Shimla. The involvement of a police officer responsible for traffic management in a drug case is considered a serious blow to the department’s image. Police have registered a case under the NDPS Act and arrested Rahul Kumar and Gaurav. Meanwhile, a thorough investigation is underway to determine the source of the heroin supply and whether any organized network is involved.
