हिमाचल प्रदेश के सिरमौर जिले के गिरिपार क्षेत्र, जिसे ‘हाटी’ क्षेत्र के नाम से जाना जाता है, ने एक बार फिर अपनी प्रतिभा का लोहा मनवाया है। शिलाई विधानसभा क्षेत्र के कांडो गांव (बनोग खत) निवासी अभय चौहान ने Combined Defense Services (CDS) परीक्षा में सफलता प्राप्त कर भारतीय सेना में अधिकारी बनने का गौरव हासिल किया है। अभय चौहान एक साधारण एवं सेवाभावी परिवार से ताल्लुक रखते हैं। उनके पिता श्री वीर सिंह चौहान ब्लॉक कार्यालय में कनिष्ठ अभियंता (JE) के पद पर कार्यरत हैं, जबकि उनकी माता श्रीमती जानकी चौहान नाहन के जोनल अस्पताल में वार्ड सिस्टर के रूप में सेवाएं दे रही हैं। बेटे की इस उपलब्धि से परिवार सहित पूरे गिरिपार क्षेत्र में खुशी और गर्व का माहौल है। अभय ने अपनी प्रारंभिक शिक्षा DAV नाहन से पूरी की।

इसके बाद उन्होंने करियर अकादमी नाहन से प्लस टू की पढ़ाई की। उच्च शिक्षा के लिए वे चंडीगढ़ गए, जहां पंजाब यूनिवर्सिटी से संबद्ध खालसा गुरु गोविंद सिंह कॉलेज से ग्रेजुएशन पूर्ण की। कड़ी मेहनत, अनुशासन और मजबूत शैक्षणिक आधार के चलते उन्होंने CDS जैसी कठिन परीक्षा में सफलता हासिल की। चयन के बाद अब अभय चौहान Officers Training Academy (OTA), चेन्नई में सैन्य प्रशिक्षण प्राप्त करेंगे। प्रशिक्षण पूर्ण होने के पश्चात वे भारतीय सेना में लेफ्टिनेंट के पद पर नियुक्त होकर देश की सेवा करेंगे।गौरतलब है कि शिलाई और गिरिपार जैसे दुर्गम क्षेत्रों से सेना के ऑफिसर कैडर में पहुंचने वाले युवाओं की संख्या बहुत कम रही है। ऐसे में अभय चौहान की यह सफलता क्षेत्र के युवाओं के लिए प्रेरणास्रोत बनकर सामने आई है। स्थानीय लोगों और प्रबुद्ध नागरिकों ने इसे शिलाई क्षेत्र के लिए एक नई और ऐतिहासिक उपलब्धि बताया है।

The Giripar region of Sirmaur district in Himachal Pradesh, also known as the ‘Haati’ region, has once again demonstrated its talent. Abhay Chauhan, a resident of Kando village (Banog Khat) in the Shilayi assembly constituency, has achieved success in the Combined Defence Services (CDS) examination and earned the distinction of becoming an officer in the Indian Army. Abhay Chauhan comes from a humble and service-oriented family. His father, Mr. Veer Singh Chauhan, works as a Junior Engineer (JE) in the block office, while his mother, Mrs. Jankee Chauhan, serves as a ward sister at the zonal hospital in Nahan. This achievement of their son has brought immense joy and pride to the family and the entire Giripar region. Abhay completed his early education at DAV Nahan.

He then completed his Plus Two education from Career Academy, Nahan. For higher education, he went to Chandigarh, where he completed his graduation from Khalsa Guru Gobind Singh College, affiliated with Punjab University. Through hard work, discipline, and a strong academic foundation, he successfully cleared the challenging CDS examination. After his selection, Abhay Chauhan will now receive military training at the Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai. Upon completion of his training, he will be commissioned as a Lieutenant in the Indian Army and serve the nation. It is noteworthy that the number of young people from remote areas like Shillai and Giripar who reach the officer cadre of the army has been very low. In this context, Abhay Chauhan’s success has emerged as an inspiration for the youth of the region. Local people and prominent citizens have described this as a new and historic achievement for the Shillai region.
