कालाअंब औद्योगिक क्षेत्र में उस समय अफरा-तफरी मच गई जब एक स्टील फैक्ट्री के परिसर में स्थित तेल के टैंक में अचानक आग लग गई। आग की लपटें उठते देख फैक्ट्री में काम कर रहे कर्मचारियों में हड़कंप मच गया और कुछ देर के लिए कामकाज ठप हो गया।यह घटना रामपुर जट्टान स्थित कृष्णा स्टील फैक्ट्री में दोपहर के समय हुई। प्रत्यक्षदर्शियों के अनुसार तेल टैंक से अचानक धुआं और लपटें निकलने लगीं। आग लगने के कारणों का फिलहाल पता नहीं चल पाया है। सूचना मिलते ही अग्निशमन विभाग कालाअंब की टीम तुरंत मौके पर पहुंच गई। लीडिंग फायरमैन रमेश चंद के नेतृत्व में दमकल कर्मियों ने फायर टेंडर की सहायता से आग बुझाने का अभियान शुरू किया।
करीब एक घंटे की कड़ी मशक्कत के बाद आग पर पूरी तरह नियंत्रण पा लिया गया। दमकल विभाग की त्वरित कार्रवाई से आग फैक्ट्री के अन्य हिस्सों तक फैलने से रुक गई, जिससे एक बड़ा हादसा टल गया। इस घटना में किसी भी प्रकार की जनहानि नहीं हुई, जो राहत की बात है। प्रारंभिक आकलन के अनुसार फैक्ट्री को लगभग तीन लाख रुपये का नुकसान हुआ है। राहत एवं बचाव कार्य में लीडिंग फायरमैन रमेश चंद के साथ फायरमैन विकास कुमार, डीवीआर राहुल ठाकुर, शिवपाल और सुखपाल ने अहम भूमिका निभाई।

Panic erupted in the Kala Amb industrial area when a fire suddenly broke out in an oil tank located on the premises of a steel factory. The sight of the flames caused chaos among the factory workers, and operations came to a standstill for some time. The incident occurred at the Krishna Steel Factory in Rampur Jattan during the afternoon. According to eyewitnesses, smoke and flames suddenly started emanating from the oil tank. The cause of the fire is not yet known. Upon receiving the information, a team from the Kala Amb fire department immediately rushed to the spot. Under the leadership of Leading Fireman Ramesh Chand, firefighters began the operation to extinguish the fire with the help of fire tenders.
After about an hour of strenuous effort, the fire was completely brought under control. The fire department’s swift action prevented the fire from spreading to other parts of the factory, thus averting a major disaster. Fortunately, there were no casualties in the incident. According to initial estimates, the factory suffered losses of approximately three lakh rupees. Leading Fireman Ramesh Chand, along with Firemen Vikas Kumar, DVR Rahul Thakur, Shivpal, and Sukhpal, played a crucial role in the relief and rescue operations.
