शिमला स्थित इंदिरा गांधी मेडिकल कॉलेज (IGMC) में हुए मारपीट प्रकरण को लेकर पूर्व NSUI जिला सचिव सिरमौर किशन सिंह तोमर ने प्रेस बयान जारी कर अपना पक्ष रखा है। उन्होंने कहा कि इस पूरे घटनाक्रम में शुरुआत में डॉक्टर राघव नरूला की कोई गलती नहीं थी। किशन सिंह तोमर ने बताया कि डॉक्टर राघव अपनी ड्यूटी निभाते हुए मरीज अर्जुन सिंह का रूटीन चेकअप कर रहे थे। इसी दौरान सामान्य बातचीत में डॉक्टर द्वारा कही गई एक बात को लेकर मरीज आक्रोशित हो गया और उसने डॉक्टर के माता-पिता के लिए अपशब्द कहने शुरू कर दिए। इसके बाद मरीज वार्ड में जोर-जोर से चिल्लाने लगा और डॉक्टर को धमकाते हुए बोला कि “तू जानता नहीं मैं कौन हूं।”

उन्होंने बताया कि इसी दौरान मरीज अर्जुन सिंह ने डॉक्टर पर IV स्टैंड से हमला किया, लात-घूंसे मारे और गाली-गलौच की। आत्मरक्षा में डॉक्टर ने खुद को बचाने का प्रयास किया। इस झड़प के दौरान मरीज के साथ मौजूद लोगों ने वीडियो बनाई, जिसके आधार पर जल्दबाजी में अधूरी जांच की गई। किशन सिंह तोमर का कहना है कि जांच बहुत कम समय में पूरी की गई, जिसमें डॉक्टर राघव का पक्ष सुने बिना ही उन्हें दोषी ठहरा दिया गया और सीधे उनकी सेवाएं समाप्त कर दी गईं, जो कि एक बेहद कठोर और अन्यायपूर्ण निर्णय है। उन्होंने कहा कि सरकार को चाहिए था कि डॉक्टर और मरीज दोनों पक्षों को सुनकर निष्पक्ष जांच करवाई जाती। पूर्व NSUI जिला सचिव ने प्रदेश सरकार से मांग की है कि इस पूरे मामले की दोबारा निष्पक्ष जांच कराई जाए और डॉक्टर राघव नरूला की टर्मिनेशन को तुरंत रिवॉक किया जाए, ताकि उन्हें न्याय मिल सके।

Former NSUI District Secretary Sirmaur Kishan Singh Tomar has issued a press statement and presented his stand regarding the incident of assault in Shimla-based Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC). He said that initially there was no fault of Dr. Raghav Narula in this entire incident. Kishan Singh Tomar told that while performing his duty, Dr. Raghav was doing routine checkup of patient Arjun Singh. Meanwhile, the patient became angry over something said by the doctor during a normal conversation and started abusing the doctor’s parents. After this, the patient started shouting loudly in the ward and threatened the doctor by saying, “You don’t know who I am.”

He said that during this time, patient Arjun Singh attacked the doctor with an IV stand, kicked, punched and abused him. The doctor tried to save himself in self-defense. During this clash, the people present with the patient made a video, on the basis of which a hasty and incomplete investigation was done. Kishan Singh Tomar says that the investigation was completed in a very short time, in which Dr. Raghav was convicted without even hearing his side and his services were directly terminated, which is a very harsh and unjust decision. He said that the government should have conducted an impartial investigation after listening to both the doctor and the patient. Former NSUI District Secretary has demanded from the state government that this entire matter should be re-investigated impartially and the termination of Dr. Raghav Narula should be immediately revoked, so that he can get justice.
