सिरमौर जिला के ददाहू-पनार-बेचड़ का बाग सड़क पर अब सफर करना यात्रियों और वाहन चालकों के लिए बेहद सुगम हो गया है। प्रधानमंत्री ग्राम सड़क योजना (PMGSY) के तहत लगभग 18.60 करोड़ रुपये की भारी-भरकम राशि से इस 21.50 किलोमीटर लंबी सड़क का अपग्रेडेशन कार्य अब अपने अंतिम चरण में है। हाल ही में इस मार्ग पर टारिंग (तारकोल बिछाने) का कार्य सफलतापूर्वक पूरा कर लिया गया है, जिससे दशकों से खस्ताहाल सड़क और तंग रास्तों की समस्या से जूझ रहे हजारों लोगों ने राहत की सांस ली है। इस परियोजना के तहत न केवल सड़क को चौड़ा किया गया है, बल्कि नमी वाले संवेदनशील हिस्सों पर इंटरलॉक टाइलें भी लगाई गई हैं ताकि सड़क लंबे समय तक सुरक्षित रहे। दशकों पुरानी इस सड़क की हालत पिछले कुछ वर्षों में काफी जर्जर हो गई थी और सड़क तंग होने के कारण दो वाहनों का एक साथ गुजरना भी चुनौतीपूर्ण था।

निर्माण कार्य के दौरान ठेकेदार को चुनौतीपूर्ण भौगोलिक परिस्थितियों और बरसात के कारण हुए भूस्खलन का भी सामना करना पड़ा, जिससे कई डंगे ध्वस्त हो गए थे, जिन्हें विभाग ने दोबारा मजबूती से तैयार करवाया है। अब सड़क पर पुलिया, कलवर्ट और डंगों का निर्माण कार्य तकरीबन पूरा हो चुका है और वर्तमान में केवल पानी की निकासी के लिए ड्रेनेज जैसे छुटपुट फिनिशिंग कार्यों को अंजाम दिया जा रहा है। इस सड़क के सुधरने से सैनधार क्षेत्र की आधा दर्जन से अधिक पंचायतों की हजारों की आबादी सीधे तौर पर लाभान्वित हो रही है। ददाहू, राजगढ़, बड़ू साहिब, बागथन और सराहां जाने वाले सैकड़ों वाहन चालक अब इसी सुगम मार्ग का उपयोग कर रहे हैं। लोक निर्माण विभाग के सहायक अभियंता ई. दलीप चौहान ने पुष्टि की है कि सड़क का जीर्णोद्धार कार्य लगभग पूरा हो चुका है और टारिंग के बाद अब शेष बचे छोटे-मोटे कार्यों को तेजी से निपटाया जा रहा है, जिससे भविष्य में आवाजाही और भी सुगम और सुरक्षित हो जाएगी।

Traveling on the Dadahu-Panar-Bechhad ka Bagh road in Sirmaur district has now become much easier for commuters and drivers. The upgrading work on this 21.50-kilometer-long road, undertaken under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) at a substantial cost of approximately Rs. 18.60 crore, is now in its final stages. The tarring work on this route has recently been successfully completed, bringing relief to thousands of people who had been struggling with the dilapidated condition and narrow stretches of the road for decades. Under this project, the road has not only been widened, but interlocking tiles have also been laid on moisture-sensitive sections to ensure the road’s longevity. The condition of this decades-old road had deteriorated significantly in recent years, and its narrowness made it challenging for two vehicles to pass each other simultaneously.

During the construction work, the contractor also faced challenging geographical conditions and landslides caused by heavy rains, which damaged several retaining walls. These walls have since been rebuilt and reinforced by the department. The construction of culverts, bridges, and retaining walls on the road is now almost complete, and only minor finishing works, such as drainage, are currently being carried out. Thousands of people in more than half a dozen panchayats of the Saindhar region are directly benefiting from the improved road. Hundreds of drivers traveling to Dadahu, Rajgarh, Baru Sahib, Bagthan, and Sarahan are now using this convenient route. Assistant Engineer E. Dalip Chauhan of the Public Works Department confirmed that the road renovation work is almost complete, and the remaining minor tasks are being expedited after the tarring, which will make travel even smoother and safer in the future.
