जिला सिरमौर स्तरीय सब जूनियर लड़के व लड़कियों की रग्बी प्रतियोगिता का आयोजन पांवटा साहिब स्थित द स्कॉलर होम स्कूल के खेल मैदान में रग्बी एसोसिएशन ऑफ सिरमौर के तत्वावधान में सफलतापूर्वक संपन्न हुआ।प्रतियोगिता के समापन समारोह में समाजसेवी पवन चौधरी ने बतौर मुख्य अतिथि शिरकत की और विजेता व उपविजेता खिलाड़ियों को ट्रॉफी व मेडल देकर सम्मानित किया।इस जिला स्तरीय प्रतियोगिता में सिरमौर जिले की एक दर्जन से अधिक टीमों ने भाग लेकर अपनी प्रतिभा का शानदार प्रदर्शन किया। लड़कों के वर्ग में द स्कॉलर होम स्कूल ने प्रथम स्थान प्राप्त किया, जबकि कोटड़ी व्यास की टीम उपविजेता रही। वहीं विद्यापीठ स्कूल ने तृतीय स्थान हासिल किया। लड़कियों के वर्ग में द स्कॉलर होम स्कूल विजेता रहा, कोटड़ी व्यास की टीम उपविजेता बनी और वेदव्यास क्लब कोटड़ी व्यास ने तृतीय स्थान प्राप्त किया।

मुख्य अतिथि पवन चौधरी ने अपने संबोधन में कहा कि खेल युवाओं को शारीरिक रूप से स्वस्थ रखने के साथ-साथ नशे से दूर रखने में भी महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाते हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि पांवटा विकासखंड और जिला सिरमौर आज खेलों के क्षेत्र में निरंतर प्रगति कर रहा है, जो गर्व का विषय है। इस अवसर पर रग्बी एसोसिएशन ऑफ सिरमौर के सचिव सुधीर कुमार सहित नवप्रीत व सुमित ने मुख्य अतिथि को स्मृति चिन्ह भेंट कर सम्मानित किया। साथ ही विशेष अतिथि समाजसेवी सुखविंदर चौधरी व हर्ष चौधरी को भी एसोसिएशन द्वारा सम्मानित किया गया।प्रतियोगिता में योगदान देने वाले टीम कोच, मैनेजर और क्वालीफाइड रेफरी को भी सम्मान प्रदान किया गया।टेक्निकल कमेटी सदस्य धर्मेंद्र चौधरी ने बताया कि चयनित खिलाड़ी आगामी 27 दिसंबर को आयोजित होने वाली राज्य स्तरीय रग्बी चैंपियनशिप में जिला सिरमौर का प्रतिनिधित्व करेंगे। कार्यक्रम में रग्बी संगठन के सदस्य नवप्रीत, सुमित, सुधीर शर्मा, रूबी, धर्मेंद्र चौधरी, चंद्रमोहन शर्मा सहित अनेक खिलाड़ी व खेल प्रेमी उपस्थित रहे।

The district-level sub-junior boys’ and girls’ rugby competition was successfully held at the sports ground of The Scholar Home School in Paonta Sahib, under the aegis of the Rugby Association of Sirmaur. Social worker Pawan Chaudhary attended the closing ceremony as the chief guest and presented trophies and medals to the winning and runner-up teams. More than a dozen teams from Sirmaur district participated in this district-level competition, showcasing their talent. In the boys’ category, The Scholar Home School secured first place, while the Kotri Vyas team was the runner-up. Vidya Peeth School secured third place. In the girls’ category, The Scholar Home School emerged victorious, the Kotri Vyas team was the runner-up, and Ved Vyas Club Kotri Vyas secured third place.

Chief Guest Pawan Chaudhary, in his address, said that sports play a vital role in keeping young people physically fit and also in keeping them away from drug abuse. He said that Paonta Development Block and Sirmaur district are continuously progressing in the field of sports, which is a matter of pride. On this occasion, Navpreet and Sumit, along with Sudhir Kumar, Secretary of the Rugby Association of Sirmaur, presented a memento to the chief guest as a token of respect. Special guests, social workers Sukhwinder Chaudhary and Harsh Chaudhary, were also honored by the association. Team coaches, managers, and qualified referees who contributed to the competition were also felicitated. Technical Committee member Dharmendra Chaudhary informed that the selected players will represent Sirmaur district in the state-level rugby championship to be held on December 27th. Members of the rugby organization, including Navpreet, Sumit, Sudhir Sharma, Ruby, Dharmendra Chaudhary, and Chandramohan Sharma, along with many players and sports enthusiasts, were present at the event.
