पांवटा साहिब उपमंडल के पुलिस थाना पुरुवाला क्षेत्र के अंतर्गत पट्टी नत्था सिंह में एक दर्दनाक हादसे में करीब डेढ़ वर्षीय बच्ची की पानी की बाल्टी में डूबने से मृत्यु हो गई। मृत बच्ची की पहचान हुमैरा (उम्र 1 वर्ष 6 माह) पुत्री हासिम, निवासी गांव महमूद नगली, डाकघर व तहसील बेहट, जिला सहारनपुर (उत्तर प्रदेश) के रूप में हुई है। प्राप्त जानकारी के अनुसार हुमैरा अपनी माता के साथ दिनांक 21 नवंबर 2025 को अपने मामा के घर पट्टी नत्था सिंह आई थी। गत 18 दिसंबर 2025 को बच्ची की माता बाथरूम के बाहर कपड़े धो रही थी, जबकि बच्ची बाहर खेल रही थी। इसी दौरान माता कमरे से कुछ कपड़े लेने चली गई। जब वह वापस लौटी तो उसने देखा कि उसकी बेटी हुमैरा बाथरूम में रखी लगभग 20 लीटर क्षमता की पानी की बाल्टी में मुंह के बल गिरी हुई थी।

परिजन तुरंत बच्ची को उपचार के लिए सिविल अस्पताल पांवटा साहिब लेकर पहुंचे, जहां चिकित्सकों ने जांच के बाद बच्ची को मृत घोषित कर दिया। मामले की सूचना मिलते ही पुलिस ने मौके पर पहुंचकर जांच की। पुलिस द्वारा मौके की स्थिति, बयानात और प्राथमिक जांच में यह सामने आया है कि बच्ची की मृत्यु बाथरूम में रखी पानी की बाल्टी में गिरने से हुई है। मृतका के परिजनों ने किसी भी प्रकार का संदेह व्यक्त नहीं किया है। पुलिस ने आवश्यक कार्रवाई पूर्ण करने के उपरांत बच्ची के शव को परिजनों के हवाले कर दिया। इस हृदयविदारक घटना से क्षेत्र में शोक की लहर है।

In a tragic incident in Patti Nathha Singh, under the jurisdiction of Puruwala police station in Paonta Sahib subdivision, a nearly one-and-a-half-year-old girl drowned in a bucket of water. The deceased child has been identified as Humaira (age 1 year 6 months), daughter of Hasim, a resident of village Mahmood Nagli, Post Office and Tehsil Behat, District Saharanpur (Uttar Pradesh). According to the information received, Humaira had come to her maternal uncle’s house in Patti Nathha Singh with her mother on November 21, 2025. On December 18, 2025, the child’s mother was washing clothes outside the bathroom, while the child was playing nearby. During this time, the mother went inside the room to get some clothes. When she returned, she found her daughter Humaira lying face down in a bucket of water with a capacity of approximately 20 liters, which was kept in the bathroom.

The family immediately rushed the child to the Civil Hospital in Paonta Sahib for treatment, where doctors declared her dead after examination. Upon receiving information about the incident, the police arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation. Based on the scene of the incident, witness statements, and preliminary investigation, it appears that the child died after falling into a bucket of water in the bathroom. The deceased’s family has not expressed any suspicion regarding the death. After completing the necessary formalities, the police handed over the child’s body to the family. This heartbreaking incident has cast a pall of grief over the area.
