शिलाई उपमंडल के गांव शरोग निवासी अभय धीमान (पुत्र भीम सिंह) की गोवा में समुद्र किनारे डूबने से आकस्मिक मृत्यु हो गई। इस दुखद समाचार के सामने आने के बाद क्षेत्र में शोक की लहर दौड़ गई है। प्राप्त जानकारी के अनुसार अभय धीमान पिछले काफी समय से गोवा में एक निजी होटल में कार्यरत था। बताया जा रहा है कि वह किसी कार्य से समुद्र किनारे गया हुआ था, जहां अचानक तेज लहरों की चपेट में आने से वह समुद्र में डूब गया। घटना के बाद स्थानीय लोगों व होटल स्टाफ द्वारा उसे बचाने का प्रयास किया गया, लेकिन समुद्र की ऊंची लहरों और गहरे पानी के कारण उसे बचाया नहीं जा सका।

गांव शरोग के पूर्व प्रधान रति राम ने घटना की पुष्टि करते हुए बताया कि अभय लंबे समय से गोवा में काम कर रहा था और करीब तीन महीने पहले ही घर आया था। उन्होंने बताया कि अभय के निधन की सूचना मिलते ही परिवार पर दुखों का पहाड़ टूट पड़ा है। पूर्व प्रधान ने यह भी बताया कि अभय का शव आज शाम तक चंडीगढ़ पहुंचने की संभावना है, जिसके बाद परिजन अंतिम संस्कार की प्रक्रिया पूरी करेंगे। युवक की असामयिक मौत से न केवल परिवार बल्कि पूरे गांव में गहरा शोक व्याप्त है। ग्रामीणों ने इस हादसे को अत्यंत दुखद बताते हुए शोक संतप्त परिवार के प्रति अपनी संवेदनाएं व्यक्त की हैं। क्षेत्र के लोगों का कहना है कि यह घटना युवाओं के लिए समुद्र में जाने के दौरान सावधानी बरतने की कड़ी सीख भी है।

Former village head of Sharog, Rati Ram, confirmed the incident, stating that Abhay had been working in Goa for a long time and had only returned home about three months ago. He said that the family was devastated upon receiving the news of Abhay’s death. The former head also mentioned that Abhay’s body is expected to arrive in Chandigarh by this evening, after which the family will perform the last rites. The untimely death of the young man has plunged not only the family but the entire village into deep sorrow. Villagers have described the incident as extremely tragic and have expressed their condolences to the bereaved family. People in the area say that this incident serves as a stark reminder for young people to exercise caution while venturing into the sea.
