उपमंडल शिलाई के दूरदराज़ क्षेत्र मशवाड, बाली कोटी पंचायत से संबंध रखने वाली वंशिका चौहान ने अपनी मेहनत और लगन के दम पर अंडर-15 हिमाचल क्रिकेट टीम में जगह बनाकर क्षेत्र का नाम रोशन किया है। वंशिका के पिता सुरेंदर चौहान, एक साधारण परिवार से आते हैं और मकैनिक का काम करते हुए गाड़ियों की रिपेयरिंग से परिवार का पालन-पोषण करते हैं। आर्थिक परिस्थितियाँ भले सामान्य रहीं हों, लेकिन बेटी के सपनों को उड़ान देने में परिवार ने कभी कमी नहीं रहने दी।वंशिका ने इस वर्ष शानदार प्रदर्शन करते हुए चयनकर्ताओं का ध्यान अपनी ओर आकर्षित किया था। निरंतर अभ्यास और मेहनत के बल पर उनका अंडर-15 हिमाचल टीम में चयन क्षेत्र के लिए गर्व का क्षण है। वंशिका वर्ष 2022 से पांवटा साहिब में कोच गोपाल सिंगटा की अकादमी में क्रिकेट प्रशिक्षण ले रही हैं।

वह सलामी बल्लेबाज (Opening Batsman) और ऑफ स्पिन बॉलर के रूप में खेलती हैं।वंशिका के चयन पर कोच गोपाल सिंगटा ने कहा “वंशिका बेहद अनुशासित, मेहनती और सीखने के लिए हमेशा तैयार रहने वाली खिलाड़ी है। मैदान पर उसका फोकस और जज़्बा देखने लायक है। वह हर दिन खुद को पहले से बेहतर बनाने पर काम करती है। कठिन परिस्थितियों और कम संसाधनों के बावजूद इतनी बड़ी उपलब्धि हासिल करना वाकई प्रेरणादायक है। हमें गर्व है कि उसने हिमाचल टीम में अपनी जगह बनाई। उम्मीद है भविष्य में वह राज्य और देश के लिए बेहतरीन प्रदर्शन करेगी। उन्होंने आगे कहा “शिलाई जैसे क्षेत्रों में सुविधा की कमी जरूर है, लेकिन अब माता-पिता को बेटियों के खेल करियर के प्रति सोच बदलनी होगी। वंशिका जैसे उदाहरण साबित करते हैं कि अगर सपना बड़ा हो और मेहनत सच्ची, तो सफलता निश्चित है।”

Vanshika Chauhan, a resident of the remote Mashwad village in the Bali Koti Panchayat of Shillai sub-division, has brought pride to her region by securing a place in the Under-15 Himachal Pradesh cricket team through her hard work and dedication. Vanshika’s father, Surender Chauhan, comes from a humble background and supports his family by working as a mechanic, repairing vehicles. Despite their modest financial circumstances, the family has always encouraged Vanshika to pursue her dreams. Vanshika’s outstanding performance this year caught the attention of the selectors. Her selection to the Under-15 Himachal Pradesh team, a result of her continuous practice and hard work, is a moment of great pride for the region. Vanshika has been receiving cricket training at Coach Gopal Singta’s academy in Paonta Sahib since 2022.

She plays as an opening batsman and off-spin bowler. Regarding Vanshika’s selection, coach Gopal Singta said, “Vanshika is a very disciplined, hardworking player who is always eager to learn. Her focus and dedication on the field are remarkable. She works every day to improve herself. Achieving such a great feat despite difficult circumstances and limited resources is truly inspiring. We are proud that she has secured a place in the Himachal team. We hope she will perform exceptionally well for the state and the country in the future.” He further added, “There is certainly a lack of facilities in areas like Shilayi, but now parents need to change their mindset regarding their daughters’ sports careers. Examples like Vanshika prove that if the dream is big and the hard work is sincere, success is inevitable.”
