जिला पुलिस की एस. आई. यू. टीम ने गुप्त सूचना के आधार पर एक व्यक्ति को स्मैक सहित गिरफ्तार किया है। एस.पी. सिरमौर एन.एस. नेगी ने मीडिया को जानकारी देते हुए बताया कि एसआईयू टीम कोलर, धौलाकुआं, माजरा व पांवटा साहिब क्षेत्र में नियमित गश्त और सूचनाएं एकत्र कर रही थी। इसी दौरान सूचना मिली कि कपिल ठाकुर नामक व्यक्ति उत्तराखंड से स्मैक लेकर पांवटा साहिब की ओर आ रहा है। टीम ने यमुना पुल बैरियर पर नाकाबंदी की और आरोपी को रोककर पूछताछ की। आरोपी ने अपना नाम कपिल ठाकुर पुत्र बलबीर सिंह निवासी कमरऊ बताया। तलाशी के दौरान उसके कब्जे से 9.31 ग्राम स्मैक (हेरोइन) बरामद हुई। पुलिस ने आरोपी के खिलाफ एन.डी.पी.एस. एक्ट के तहत मामला दर्ज कर उसे गिरफ्तार किया और अदालत में पेश किया, जहां से उसे 3 दिन के पुलिस रिमांड पर भेज दिया गया है। मामले की जांच जारी है।

The district police’s Special Investigation Unit (SIU) team has arrested a man with smack (heroin) based on a tip-off. Superintendent of Police, Sirmaur, N.S. Negi, informed the media that the SIU team was conducting regular patrols and gathering intelligence in the Kolar, Dhaulakuan, Majra, and Paonta Sahib areas. During this time, they received information that a man named Kapil Thakur was bringing smack from Uttarakhand towards Paonta Sahib. The team set up a roadblock at the Yamuna Bridge barrier and stopped and questioned the suspect. The accused identified himself as Kapil Thakur, son of Balbir Singh, a resident of Kamrau. During a search, 9.31 grams of smack (heroin) were recovered from his possession. The police registered a case against the accused under the NDPS Act, arrested him, and produced him in court, from where he was sent to 3-day police remand. The investigation is ongoing.
