जिला सिरमौर के दूरदराज क्षेत्र स्थित राजकीय महाविद्यालय शिलाई में सोमवार को एक ऐतिहासिक उपलब्धि दर्ज हुई, जब एक हिमाचल एनसीसी बटालियन नाहन द्वारा महाविद्यालय में नई एनसीसी सब-यूनिट का विधिवत उद्घाटन किया गया। कार्यक्रम की अध्यक्षता प्राचार्य जे.आर. कश्यप ने की, जबकि संचालन एनसीसी यूनिट शिलाई के ए.एन.ओ. रामलाल ठाकुर ने किया।कार्यक्रम में बतौर मुख्य अतिथि पहुंचे कमांडिंग ऑफिसर लेफ्टिनेंट कर्नल जे.एस. चौहान ने अपने प्रेरक संबोधन में कहा कि एनसीसी केवल प्रशिक्षण का माध्यम नहीं बल्कि युवाओं में नेतृत्व क्षमता, अनुशासन, समय-प्रबंधन, टीमवर्क और राष्ट्रभक्ति विकसित करने का सशक्त संस्थान है। उन्होंने कहा कि शिलाई क्षेत्र के युवाओं को अब राष्ट्रीय स्तर के अवसर मिल सकेंगे, जो उनके व्यक्तित्व विकास में मील का पत्थर साबित होंगे।

कर्नल चौहान ने बताया कि एनसीसी कैडेटों को सेना, केंद्रीय सशस्त्र पुलिस बलों और राज्य पुलिस सेवाओं में विशेष लाभ मिलता है, जिससे उनके करियर की संभावनाएँ और अधिक मजबूत होती हैं। उन्होंने विद्यार्थियों से अधिक संख्या में एनसीसी से जुड़ने की अपील की। कार्यक्रम में रमेश देसाई ने भी महाविद्यालय में सब-यूनिट की स्थापना पर प्रसन्नता व्यक्त करते हुए छात्रों को एनसीसी के लाभ बताए। प्राचार्य जे.आर. कश्यप ने एनसीसी बटालियन का आभार जताते हुए कहा कि नई सब-यूनिट से कॉलेज की प्रतिष्ठा बढ़ेगी और छात्रों में अनुशासन व जिम्मेदारी की भावना विकसित होगी। कार्यक्रम में सहायक प्रोफेसर अजय सिंह, विद्या वर्मा, डॉ. संसार चंद, डॉ. सुजाता और रीबा सहित अनेक अध्यापक उपस्थित रहे। विद्यार्थियों ने भी बड़ी संख्या में एनसीसी से जुड़ने की इच्छा व्यक्त की।

A historic achievement was recorded on Monday at the Government College, Shillai, located in a remote area of Sirmaur district, when a new NCC sub-unit was formally inaugurated at the college by a Himachal NCC Battalion, Nahan. The program was presided over by Principal J.R. Kashyap, while the proceedings were conducted by Ramlal Thakur, the ANO (Associate NCC Officer) of the Shillai NCC unit. The Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel J.S. Chauhan, who attended as the chief guest, said in his inspiring address that the NCC is not merely a means of training but a powerful institution for developing leadership qualities, discipline, time management, teamwork, and patriotism among young people. He added that the youth of the Shillai region will now have access to national-level opportunities, which will prove to be a milestone in their personality development.

Colonel Chauhan stated that NCC cadets receive special benefits in the Army, Central Armed Police Forces, and State Police Services, which significantly enhances their career prospects. He appealed to the students to join the NCC in large numbers. Ramesh Desai also expressed his happiness at the establishment of the sub-unit in the college and explained the benefits of the NCC to the students. Principal J.R. Kashyap thanked the NCC battalion, saying that the new sub-unit would enhance the college’s reputation and instill a sense of discipline and responsibility in the students. Many teachers, including Assistant Professors Ajay Singh, Vidya Verma, Dr. Sansar Chand, Dr. Sujata, and Reeba, were present at the event. A large number of students also expressed their desire to join the NCC.
