शिलाई विधानसभा क्षेत्र के अंतर्गत खाड़ी गांव में देर रात एक ह्रदय विदारक हादसा सामने आया है, जहां एक व्यक्ति की गौशाला भीषण आग की चपेट में आ गई। इस दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण घटना में 60 मवेशी जिंदा जल गए, जबकि दो गाय बुरी तरह से झुलस गईं। पशुपालक लायक राम पुत्र सामी को इस हादसे में अनुमानित ₹9 लाख का भारी नुकसान हुआ है। यह घटना खाड़ी गांव में लायक राम के घर से थोड़ी दूरी पर स्थित दो गौशालाओं में रात करीब 2 बजे सामने आई। आग इतनी तेजी से फैली कि लकड़ी और चादर से बनी दोनों गौशालाएं देखते ही देखते पूरी तरह से आग की लपटों में समा गईं।
लायक राम द्वारा स्थानीय प्रशासन को घटना की जानकारी दिए जाने के बाद अधिकारियों ने मौके पर निरीक्षण किया। निरीक्षण में पाया गया कि गौशाला के भीतर मौजूद 35 बकरियां, 20 बकरे और 5 मेमने मौके पर ही जलकर मर गए। इसके अतिरिक्त, दो जर्सी गाय आग में बुरी तरह झुलसने के कारण अधमरी हालत में पहुंच गईं। इस हादसे में बकरे और बकरियों की अनुमानित कीमत लगभग ₹8 लाख और गौशाला की अनुमानित कीमत ₹1 लाख आंकी गई है। शिलाई के एसडीएम जसवाल ने इस घटना की पुष्टि करते हुए बताया कि आग लगने के कारणों का फिलहाल पता नहीं चल पाया है और इसकी जांच की जा रही है। उन्होंने कहा कि प्रभावित लायक राम को प्रशासन की तरफ से ₹10 हज़ार की फौरी राहत तत्काल प्रदान की गई है।

A heartbreaking incident occurred late at night in Khadi village, under the Shilayi assembly constituency, where a man’s cowshed was engulfed in a massive fire. In this unfortunate incident, 60 cattle were burned alive, while two cows sustained severe burns. The cattle owner, Layak Ram, son of Sami, suffered an estimated loss of ₹9 lakh in this tragedy. The incident took place around 2 am in two cowsheds located a short distance from Layak Ram’s house in Khadi village. The fire spread so rapidly that both cowsheds, constructed of wood and corrugated iron sheets, were completely consumed by the flames within moments.
After Layak Ram informed the local administration about the incident, officials inspected the site. The inspection revealed that 35 goats, 20 male goats, and 5 lambs inside the cowshed had perished in the fire. Additionally, two Jersey cows were found severely burned and in critical condition. The estimated loss from the death of the goats and male goats is approximately ₹8 lakh, and the estimated damage to the cowshed is ₹1 lakh. Shillai Sub-Divisional Magistrate Jaswal confirmed the incident, stating that the cause of the fire is currently unknown and is under investigation. He added that immediate relief of ₹10,000 has been provided to the affected individual, Layak Ram, by the administration.
