उद्योग, संसदीय मामले एवं श्रम रोज़गार मंत्री हर्षवर्धन चौहान नेपंचायत ग्राउंड शिलाई में आयोजित तीन दिवसीय 42वें इंदिरा मेमोरियल टूर्नामेंट के उद्घाटन समारोह में बतौर मुख्य अतिथि शिरक़त की। उद्योग मंत्री ने 42वें इंदिरा मेमोरियल टूर्नामेंट के आयोजकों को बधाई देते हुए कहा कि वह 42 सालों से इस टूर्नामेंट का आयोजन कर रहे है। उन्होंने कहा कि इस प्रकार के आयोजन बच्चों को अपनी प्रतिभा को प्रदर्शित करने का मंच प्रदान करते हैं। युवाओं में अनुशासन, सहयोग और आत्मविश्वास का विकास इसी प्रकार की गतिविधियों से होता है। उन्होंने कहा कि बच्चों को पढ़ाई के साथ साथ स्पोर्ट्स तथा सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रमों में भी आगे बढ़कर भाग लेना चाहिए तभी उनके व्यक्तित्व का संपूर्ण विकास सुनिश्चित होगा।

उन्होंने कहा कि खेल जीवन के लिए नितांत महत्वपूर्ण है। खेलों से न केवल शारीरिक व मानसिक विकास होता है बल्कि व्यक्तित्व का भी विकास होता है। उन्होंने कहा की सूबे के अनेक खिलाड़ियों ने राष्ट्रीय व अंतराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर ख्याति अर्जित कर देश व प्रदेश का नाम रोशन किया है। हर्षवर्धन चौहान ने नौजवानों से अपनी ऊर्जा को सकारात्मक कार्यों में लगाने का आह्वान किया। उन्होंने कहा कि सरकार प्रतिभाशाली युवाओं को हर क्षेत्र में प्रोत्साहन देने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध है। जिसके मद्देनज़र प्रदेश सरकार खिलाड़ियों को सम्मान राशि तथा सरकारी नौकरियों में आरक्षण देकर उन्हें सम्मानजनक पदों पर नियुक्तियां प्रदान कर रही है। उद्योग मंत्री ने शिलाई स्टेडियम के लिए 15लाख, सामुदायिक भवन शिलाई के लिए 10 लाख देने की घोषणा की। इसके अतिरिक्त उन्होंने ग्राउंड के ऊपर से गुज़र रही तारों को हटाने या उनकी उचित व्यवस्था करवाने का आश्वासन भी दिया।

अध्यक्ष हिमालय यूथ स्पोर्ट्स एवं कल्चर क्लब शिलाई रमेश नेगी ने जानकारी देते हुए बताया कि तीन दिवसीय 42वें इंदिरा मेमोरियल टूर्नामेंट के दौरान उत्तराखंड, हरियाणा, शिमला तथा सिरमौर जिले के प्रतिभागी भाग लेंगे। जिसमें कबड्डी गर्ल्स की 10 टीमें तथा बॉयस कबड्डी की 30 टीमें, वॉलीबॉल की 20 टीमें, क्रिकेट 50 टीमें, चेस के 50 प्रतिभागी तथा बैडमिंटन की अंडर सिक्सटीन की 50 टीमें में, बैडमिंटन ओपन की 60 टीमें तथा 35 वर्ष से अधिक आयु की 70 टीमें । इन सभी टीमों के लगभग 900 प्रतिभागी भाग लेंगे। इसके अतिरिक्त उन्होंने बताया कि इस तीन दिवसीय कार्यक्रम के दौरान सांस्कृतिक संध्याओं का भी आयोजन किया जाएगा। बैठक के दौरान अध्यक्ष मार्केटिंग कमेटी सीता राम शर्मा, एसडीएम शिलाई जसपाल, बीडीओ अभिषेक ठाकुर, अधिशाषी अभियंता जल शक्ति प्रदीप चौहान, निदेशक एसआईडीसी रमेश देसाईक, पूर्व जिला परिषद सदस्य रणजीत नेगी, ओएसडी अत्तर राणा, क्लब के सचिव प्रदीप ठाकुर, कोषाध्यक्ष जवाहर देसाई, सह कोषाध्यक्ष पंकज नेगी सहित विभिन्न विभागों के अधिकारी मौजूद रहे।

Industry, Parliamentary Affairs and Labour Employment Minister Harsh Vardhan Chauhan attended the inaugural ceremony of the three-day 42nd Indira Memorial Tournament held at the Panchayat Ground, Shillai, as the chief guest. Congratulating the organizers of the 42nd Indira Memorial Tournament, the Minister said that they have been organizing this tournament for 42 years. He said that such events provide a platform for children to showcase their talents. Such activities help develop discipline, cooperation, and self-confidence among youth. He said that along with studies, children should also actively participate in sports and cultural events, only then will their personality development be ensured.

He stated that sports are vital to life. Sports not only promote physical and mental development but also foster personality development. He noted that many athletes from the state have earned national and international fame and brought glory to the state and the country. Harsh Vardhan Chauhan urged the youth to channel their energy into positive endeavors. He stated that the government is committed to encouraging talented youth in every field. In light of this, the state government is providing honorariums and reservations in government jobs to athletes, providing them with respectable positions. The Industry Minister announced 15 lakh rupees for the Shillai Stadium and 10 lakh rupees for the Shillai Community Hall. He also assured that the wires running overhead will be removed or replaced.

President of the Himalaya Youth Sports and Culture Club, Shillai, Ramesh Negi, informed that participants from Uttarakhand, Haryana, Shimla, and Sirmaur districts will participate in the three-day 42nd Indira Memorial Tournament. This tournament includes 10 girls’ kabaddi teams and 30 boys’ kabaddi teams, 20 volleyball teams, 50 cricket teams, 50 chess teams, 50 badminton under-16 teams, 60 open badminton teams, and 70 teams over 35. Approximately 900 participants from all these teams will participate. He also informed that cultural evenings will also be organized during the three-day event. Present at the meeting were Marketing Committee Chairman Sita Ram Sharma, SDM Shillai Jaspal, BDO Abhishek Thakur, Executive Engineer Jal Shakti Pradeep Chauhan, SIDC Director Ramesh Desai, former District Council member Ranjeet Negi, OSD Attar Rana, Club Secretary Pradeep Thakur, Treasurer Jawahar Desai, Co-Treasurer Pankaj Negi, and officials from various departments.
