अगर चोर चोरी के दौरान मोबाइल फोन का इस्तेमाल न करें, तो क्या उन्हें पकड़ना नामुमकिन हो जाता है? सिरमौर पुलिस ने इस धारणा को गलत साबित कर दिया है। हरियाणा के बराड़ा से लौट रही एक बारात से सोने के आभूषण चोरी करने वाले शातिर गिरोह का पर्दाफाश करते हुए पुलिस ने एक चौंकाने वाला विवरण साझा किया है। दरअसल, 10 नवम्बर को क्यार्दा से बराड़ा गई बारात धौलाकुआं में चाय के लिए रुकी थी। उसी दौरान बारात की गाड़ी से सोने के आभूषण चोरी होने की घटना सामने आई। माजरा थाना क्षेत्र में दर्ज इस वारदात में गिरफ्तार मुख्य आरोपी नीतीश कुमार ने खुलासा किया कि वे चोरी के दौरान मोबाइल फोन का बिल्कुल भी इस्तेमाल नहीं करते थे।
पुलिस पूछताछ में पता चला है कि आरोपी चोरी करते समय मोबाइल का इस्तेमाल इसलिए नहीं करते थे, ताकि उनकी लोकेशन स्थानीय मोबाइल टॉवर में दर्ज न हो सके। वे जानते थे कि पुलिस सबसे पहले मोबाइल टॉवर डेटा का विश्लेषण करती है। इस ‘साइलेंट ऑपरेशन’ को अंजाम देने के लिए गिरोह केवल वॉकी-टॉकी सेट्स का ही इस्तेमाल करता था। उनका मकसद था—कोई डिजिटल फुटप्रिंट न छोड़ना। चोरी की शिकायत मिलने के तुरंत बाद, पुलिस अधीक्षक निश्चित सिंह नेगी, सिरमौर के दिशा-निर्देशों पर एक विशेष टीम (साइबर सेल के अमरेन्दर सिंह, संगीत कुमार और गुरदीप सिंह) ने जांच शुरू की।
चूँकि मोबाइल डेटा नहीं मिल पाया, पुलिस ने अपनी रणनीति बदली और इलाके के सारे CCTV फुटेज और अन्य तकनीकी मापदण्डों (जैसे टोल प्लाजा रिकॉर्ड और वाहन ट्रैकिंग) का गहन विश्लेषण किया। फुटेज से पता चला कि संदिग्ध बराड़ा से ही बारात का पीछा कर रहे थे और शादी समारोह में भी शामिल थे। इस गहन विश्लेषण के कारण ही पुलिस मुख्य आरोपी नीतीश कुमार को वारदात में इस्तेमाल किए गए वाहन UP80FF-3852 सहित हरियाणा से गिरफ्तार करने में सफल रही। आरोपी के पास से वॉकी-टॉकी सेट्स भी बरामद हुए हैं। सिरमौर पुलिस की इस सफलता ने यह साबित कर दिया है कि अपराधी चाहे जितने शातिर तरीके अपना लें, कानून की आँख से बच नहीं सकते।

If thieves do not use mobile phones during theft, does it become impossible to catch them? Sirmaur police has proved this notion wrong. While exposing a vicious gang that stole gold jewellery from a wedding procession returning from Barara in Haryana, the police shared a shocking detail. Actually, on November 10, the wedding procession going from Barara to Barara had stopped for tea at Dhaula Kuan. During that time, the incident of theft of gold jewellery from the wedding procession vehicle came to light. Nitish Kumar, the main accused arrested in this incident registered in Majra police station area, revealed that they did not use mobile phones at all during the theft.
Police investigations revealed that the accused avoided using mobile phones during the theft to avoid having their location recorded by local mobile towers. They knew that police primarily analyze mobile tower data. To carry out this “silent operation,” the gang used only walkie-talkie sets. Their goal was to leave no digital footprint. Immediately after receiving the theft complaint, a special team (Amrinder Singh, Sangeet Kumar, and Gurdeep Singh of the Cyber Cell) began the investigation under the direction of Superintendent of Police, Nishchay Singh Negi, Sirmaur.
Since mobile data was unavailable, the police changed their strategy and thoroughly analyzed all CCTV footage and other technical parameters (such as toll plaza records and vehicle tracking) in the area. The footage revealed that the suspects had been following the wedding procession from Barara and were also attending the wedding ceremony. This thorough analysis led the police to arrest the main accused, Nitish Kumar, in Haryana along with the vehicle used in the crime, UP80FF-3852. Walkie-talkie sets were also recovered from the accused. This success by the Sirmaur police proves that no matter how cunning the methods employed, criminals cannot escape the law.
