हिमाचल प्रदेश में रगबी खेल को पहली बार स्पोर्ट्स कोटा मिलने के बाद खिलाड़ियों, प्रशिक्षकों और रगबी संघ में उत्साह का माहौल है। 12 नवंबर को जारी सचिवालय आदेश में 59 खेलों को स्पोर्ट्स कोटा प्रदान किया गया, जिनमें रगबी को भी शामिल किया गया है। रगबी खिलाड़ियों का कहना है कि लंबे समय से इस मान्यता की प्रतीक्षा थी। नेशनल और खेलो इंडिया प्लेटफॉर्म पर उत्कृष्ट प्रदर्शन करने वाले खिलाड़ियों रूबी, स्नेहा, महक, जोया, नंदिता, अंकिता, आर्यन, सुमित, नवप्रीत, अरबाज, अंकित, गौरव और आदित्य ने कहा कि यह उपलब्धि उनके लिए बड़ा प्रोत्साहन है। अब स्पोर्ट्स कोटा मिलने से रोजगार और चयन प्रक्रियाओं में उन्हें उचित प्रतिनिधित्व मिलेगा।

हिमाचल रगबी के क्वालिफाइड रेफरी सुधीर कुमार, सुमित चौधरी और नवप्रीत ने कहा कि यह निर्णय रगबी के भविष्य को मजबूत करेगा। संगठन ने बताया कि अब प्रदेश में विशेष ट्रेनिंग कैंप, स्किल डेवलपमेंट प्रोग्राम और बड़े स्तर पर तैयारी करवाई जाएगी, ताकि खिलाड़ी राष्ट्रीय और अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर बेहतर प्रदर्शन कर सकें। हिमाचल प्रदेश रगबी संघ के अध्यक्ष डॉ. विकास शूद, महासचिव विशाल सरिन, अनुज गुप्ता (एडवोकेट), अक्षय सूद (सेवानिवृत्त IAS), सुमित सूद (रॉयल हेरिटेज), टेक्निकल कमेटी हेड सुधीर कुमार और धर्मेंद्र चौधरी ने इस निर्णय का स्वागत किया। सिरमौर रगबी एसोसिएशन ने विशेष रूप से समाजसेवी मो. शानबाज का धन्यवाद किया।

In the secretariat order issued on November 12, sports quota was granted to 59 sports, in which rugby has also been included. Players who have performed excellently on the national and Khelo India platforms, Ruby, Sneha, Mehak, Zoya, Nandita, Ankita, Aryan, Sumit, Navpreet, Arbaaz, Ankit, Gaurav and Aditya said that this achievement is a big encouragement for them. Now, with the sports quota, they will get proper representation in employment and selection processes.

Himachal Rugby’s qualified referees Sudhir Kumar, Sumit Chaudhary and Navpreet said that this decision will strengthen the future of rugby. The organization said that now special training camps, skill development programs and large scale preparation will be conducted in the state so that the players can perform better at the national and international level. Himachal Pradesh Rugby Association President Dr. Vikas Shud, General Secretary Vishal Sarin, Anuj Gupta (Advocate), Akshay Sood (Retired IAS), Sumit Sood (Royal Heritage), Technical Committee Head Sudhir Kumar and Dharmendra Chaudhary welcomed this decision.
