श्री गुरु गोबिंद सिंह जी राजकीय महाविद्यालय पांवटा साहिब के परिसर में करीब एक करोड़ लागत से एक आधुनिक छात्र केंद्र (स्टडी सेंटर) का निर्माण होगा। प्रदेशभर में किसी भी कॉलेज परिसर में तैयार होने वाली ये प्रथम योजना है। एक आधुनिक स्टडी सेंटर में एक ही छत के नीचे कैंटीन, बहुउद्देशीय मनोरंजन कक्ष, सीएससीए कार्यालय, प्राथमिक चिकित्सा कक्ष और क्रेच कक्ष तैयार होगा। काफी लंबे अर्से से स्थानीय कॉलेज के छात्र संगठनों की मांग चली आ रही थी।बता दें कि इस मुद्दे को लेकर कॉलेज के प्राचार्य और सभी छात्र संगठन उद्योग मंत्री, लोक निर्माण विभाग मंत्री व शिक्षा मंत्री के समक्ष उठा चुुके थे।

पांवटा साहिब महाविद्यालय प्रदेश का पहला महाविद्यालय है, जिसको सबसे पहले भारत सरकार के राष्ट्रीय मूल्यांकन और प्रत्यायन परिषद, नेक से ए-ग्रेड प्राप्त हुआ है। इस महाविद्यालय में इस प्रकार के स्टूडेंट सेंटर का अभाव था, जो संपूर्ण छात्र समुदाय के हितों के लिए आवश्यक था। केंद्र की स्वीकृति से महाविद्यालय के विद्यार्थियों में अत्यंत उत्साह और प्रसन्नता का वातावरण है। इस योजना में कैंटीन सुविधा से छात्रों और कर्मचारियों को स्वच्छ, पौष्टिक एवं किफायती भोजन और नाश्ते की सुविधा मिलेगी। कैंटीन में बैठने की पर्याप्त व्यवस्था, शुद्ध पेयजल, स्वच्छता एवं अपशिष्ट निपटान की विशेष व्यवस्था होगी।

दूसरा, बहुउद्देशीय मनोरंजन कक्ष, इनडोर गेम्स में जैसे टेबल टेनिस, कैरम, चेस आदि की व्यवस्था होगी। विश्राम और स्व अध्ययन को लाउंज एवं बैठने का प्रावधान तथा छात्र विभिन्न युवा महोत्सव प्रतियोगिताओं के लिए अभ्यास कर सकेंगे। तीसरा, सभी तरह के समाचार पत्र और मासिक पत्रिकाओं से युक्त अध्ययन कक्ष बनेगा व चौथा सीएससीए कार्यालय बनने पर कार्यों के संचालन एवं समन्वय के लिए एक सुसज्जित कार्यालय की स्थापना होगी। पांचवा, योजना में प्राथमिक चिकित्सा कक्ष, जिसका उपयोग विभिन्न स्थितियों में तत्काल प्राथमिक उपचार मिलेगा।

एक करोड़ धनराशि स्वीकृत हुई : डॉ. जगदीश चौहान-

कॉलेज के प्राचार्य डॉ. जगदीश चौहान ने कहा कि राज्य के किसी महाविद्यालय में ये प्रथम छात्र केंद्रित केंद्र है। लंबे अरसे से छात्र समुदाय इसके निर्माण की मांग कर रहे थे। इस योजना को एक करोड़ की धनराशि स्वीकृत हुई है। शीघ्र ही निर्माण कार्य शुरू किया जाएगा। योजना के निर्माण कार्य की गुणवत्ता एवं प्रगति की नियमित समीक्षा महाविद्यालय की निर्माण समिति की आर से की जाएगी।

A modern student center (study center) will be constructed on the campus of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Government College, Paonta Sahib, at a cost of approximately one crore rupees. This is the first project to be implemented in any college campus in the state. A modern study center will house a canteen, multipurpose recreation room, CSCA office, first aid room, and crèche room under one roof. The local college’s student organizations had been demanding this for a long time. It should be noted that the college principal and all student organizations had raised this issue before the Industry Minister, Public Works Department Minister, and Education Minister.

Paonta Sahib College is the first college in the state to receive an A-grade from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Government of India. The college lacked a student center of this type, essential for the welfare of the entire student community. The center’s approval has brought great enthusiasm and joy to the college’s students. The canteen facility will provide clean, nutritious, and affordable meals and snacks to students and staff. The canteen will include adequate seating arrangements, pure drinking water, sanitation, and waste disposal.

Secondly, there will be a multipurpose recreation room, indoor games like table tennis, carrom, chess etc. Lounge and seating will be provided for relaxation and self-study and students will be able to practice for various youth festival competitions. Thirdly, there will be a study room equipped with all kinds of newspapers and monthly magazines and fourthly, after the CSCA office is built, a well-equipped office will be established for the operation and coordination of work. Fifthly, the plan includes a first aid room, which will be used to provide immediate first aid in various situations.

An amount of Rs 1 crore has been approved: Dr. Jagdish Chauhan

College Principal Dr. Jagdish Chauhan said that this is the first student-centric center in any college in the state. The student community had been demanding its construction for a long time. A sum of Rs. 1 crore has been approved for this project. Construction work will begin soon. The quality and progress of the project will be regularly reviewed by the college’s construction committee.
