पूर्व भंगानी जोन अध्यक्ष एवं कांग्रेस नेता प्रदीप चौहान ने भाजपा पर महिलाओं के प्रति दोहरे रवैये का आरोप लगाते हुए कहा कि भाजपा केवल भाषणों में महिला सुरक्षा की बात करती है, जबकि हकीकत इससे बिल्कुल अलग है। उन्होंने कहा कि चुराह क्षेत्र से भाजपा विधायक एवं विधानसभा के पूर्व उपाध्यक्ष हंसराज पर महिला उत्पीड़न जैसे गंभीर आरोप लगने के बावजूद भाजपा नेतृत्व की चुप्पी यह साबित करती है कि भाजपा महिला सम्मान के मुद्दे पर केवल राजनीति करती है।

प्रदीप चौहान ने कहा कि यदि ऐसा ही कोई मामला किसी कांग्रेस नेता से जुड़ा होता, तो भाजपा के नेता सड़कों पर उतरकर धरना-प्रदर्शन करते और त्यागपत्र की मांग करने लगते, लेकिन जब मामला उनके अपने विधायक से जुड़ा है, तो पूरी पार्टी मौन साधे बैठी है। उन्होंने भाजपा से सवाल किया कि क्या महिला सुरक्षा सिर्फ भाषणों और मंचों तक सीमित है? क्या पार्टी अपने नेताओं के खिलाफ कार्रवाई करने से डरती है? और क्या ऐसे नेताओं को तुरंत निष्कासित नहीं किया जाना चाहिए? कांग्रेस नेता ने कहा कि कांग्रेस का मानना है कि महिला उत्पीड़न जैसे मामलों में किसी भी व्यक्ति को, चाहे वह किसी भी दल या पद से जुड़ा हो, बख्शा नहीं जाना चाहिए। कानूनी प्रक्रिया निष्पक्ष होनी चाहिए और दोषी पाए जाने पर कड़ी कार्रवाई की जानी चाहिए।
