उपमंडल पांवटा साहिब में एक दर्दनाक सड़क हादसे में 40 वर्षीय स्कूटी चालक की मौके पर ही मौत हो गई। जानकारी के अनुसार, सुबह करीब 8 बजे बहराल से पांवटा की ओर आ रही एक कार (नंबर HP17G-9007) गलत दिशा (रॉन्ग साइड) में चल रही थी। इसी दौरान सामने से आ रहे स्कूटी चालक को कार ने जोरदार टक्कर मार दी। हादसे में स्कूटी चालक जयपाल (40) पुत्र संतराम शर्मा निवासी गुद्दीमानपुर की मौके पर ही मौत हो गई। स्थानीय लोगों ने तुरंत पुलिस को सूचना दी, जिसके बाद पुलिस टीम ने मौके पर पहुंचकर शव को कब्जे में लिया और सिविल अस्पताल पांवटा भेज दिया। डीएसपी पांवटा मानवेन्द्र ठाकुर ने हादसे की पुष्टि करते हुए बताया कि कार चालक हिमांशु कौशिक, जो पेशे से डॉक्टर हैं, के खिलाफ मामला दर्ज कर लिया गया है। पुलिस ने दोनों वाहनों को कब्जे में लेकर जांच शुरू कर दी है। शव का पोस्टमार्टम करवाकर परिजनों को सौंप दिया गया है। पुलिस यह भी जांच कर रही है कि हादसे के वक्त कार चालक की गति और दिशा नियंत्रण से बाहर क्यों हुई।

A 40-year-old scooter driver died on the spot in a tragic road accident in the Paonta Sahib subdivision. According to reports, a car (number HP17G-9007) traveling from Bahral towards Paonta at around 8 a.m. was traveling in the wrong direction. The car collided with a scooter driver coming from the opposite direction. The scooter driver, Jaipal (40), son of Santram Sharma, resident of Guddimanpur, died on the spot. Locals immediately informed the police, who then arrived at the scene, took possession of the body, and sent it to the Civil Hospital in Paonta. DSP Paonta Manvendra Thakur confirmed the accident and stated that a case has been registered against the driver, Himanshu Kaushik, a doctor by profession. Police have seized both vehicles and initiated an investigation. The body has been handed over to the family after a post-mortem examination. Police are also investigating why the driver lost control of the car at the time of the accident.
