बिलासपुर जिले के बरठीं के भल्लू पुल के पास हुए मंगलवार शाम हुए भीषण सड़क हादसा में अब तक 16 की मौत हो गई है। हादसे में एक बच्चा रात से लापता था, जिसका शव बुधवार सुबह 10:00 बजे मिला है। वहीं दो बच्चे एक लड़का और एक लड़की को हल्की चोटें आईं। दोनों घायलों को एम्स बिलासपुर में उपचार के बाद देर रात 4:30 बजे छुट्टी दे दी गई, और उनके पिता उन्हें घर ले गए। राहत कार्य में जुटे दलों को लगातार हो रही बारिश और पहाड़ी से मलबा गिरने के कारण भारी दिक्कतों का सामना करना पड़ा। वहीं बुधवार सुबह पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री जयराम ठाकुर भी बरठीं पहुंचे।

रात 2:30 बजे ऑपरेशन को सुरक्षा कारणों से अस्थायी रूप से रोकना पड़ा, जिसे सुबह 6:40 बजे फिर से शुरू किया गया। मौके पर दो एनडीआरएफ टीमें, क्यूआरटी और होम गार्ड की टीमें आवश्यक उपकरणों के साथ डटी हुई हैं। घटना की गंभीरता को देखते हुए एडीसी बिलासपुर, एसपी बिलासपुर और एसडीएम झंडूता घटनास्थल पर मौजूद हैं और राहत व बचाव कार्यों की निगरानी कर रहे हैं। सभी मृतकों के शवों को सीएचसी बरठीं लाया गया, जहां पोस्टमार्टम प्रक्रिया सुबह 7:00 बजे शुरू हुई। सभी मृतकों की पहचान कर शव परिजनों को सौंप दिए गए हैं। प्रशासन ने तत्काल राहत के रूप में 25,000 प्रति मृतक परिजन को प्रदान किए हैं।

So far 16 people have died in the horrific road accident that took place on Tuesday evening near Bhallu bridge in Barthin of Bilaspur district. One child was missing since night in the accident, whose body was found on Wednesday morning at 10:00. Two children, a boy and a girl, suffered minor injuries. Both the injured were discharged at 4:30 in the night after treatment at AIIMS Bilaspur, and their father took them home. The teams engaged in relief work faced huge difficulties due to continuous rain and falling debris from the hill. Former Chief Minister Jairam Thakur also reached Barthin on Wednesday morning.

The operation was temporarily halted at 2:30 am due to security reasons and resumed at 6:40 am. Two NDRF teams, QRT teams, and Home Guard teams are deployed at the site with necessary equipment. Given the severity of the incident, ADC Bilaspur, SP Bilaspur, and SDM Jhanduta are present at the site and are monitoring the relief and rescue operations. The bodies of all the deceased were brought to CHC Barthi, where the post-mortem process began at 7:00 am. All the deceased have been identified and their bodies have been handed over to their families. The administration has provided immediate relief of ₹25,000 per deceased family member.
