जिला सिरमौर के उपमंडल संगड़ाह के सियूं गांव के रहने वाले प्रसिद्ध पर्यावरण प्रेमी विजय कुमार आजाद को पर्यावरण संरक्षण में दिए गए अमूल्य योगदान के लिए राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर सम्मानित किया जाएगा। राष्ट्रीय राजधानी क्षेत्र नई दिल्ली (फरीदाबाद) में मैजिक बुक एंड रिकॉर्ड फाउंडेशन द्वारा आगामी 11 अक्टूबर 2025 को एक राष्ट्रीय सम्मान समारोह आयोजित किया जा रहा है, जिसमें देशभर से विभिन्न क्षेत्रों—समाज सेवा, साहित्य, पत्रकारिता, चिकित्सा, शिक्षा, उद्योग, कला-संस्कृति, अभिनय और पर्यावरण—में उल्लेखनीय योगदान देने वाले विभूतियों को राष्ट्रीय सम्मान से नवाजा जाएगा। इसी कड़ी में हिमाचल प्रदेश का नाम रोशन करते हुए विजय कुमार आजाद को भी पर्यावरण आईकॉन राष्ट्रीय अवॉर्ड प्रदान किया जाएगा।

उनके इस सम्मान की सूचना मिलते ही पूरे क्षेत्र में खुशी और गर्व की लहर दौड़ गई है। विजय कुमार आजाद पिछले 25 वर्षों से तन-मन-धन से पर्यावरण संरक्षण में जुटे हुए हैं। वे जंगली कैथं के पौधों में सेब, नाशपाती व आड़ू में पालम की ग्राफ्टिंग करते हैं और भूस्खलन रोकने के लिए शमालू व ऐड के कालमो की निशुल्क रोपाई करते हैं। उनका यह कार्य न केवल वन संपदा को हरा-भरा बना रहे वनों की हरियाली से शुद्ध हवा ऑक्सीजन ,दुर्लभ जड़ी बूटियां एवं जल स्रोत बरकरार रहे बल्कि पर्यावरणीय संतुलन को बनाए रखने में भी अहम योगदान दे रहा है। इस अवसर पर विजय कुमार आजाद ने कहा कि उनका उद्देश्य पर्यावरण प्रेमी वीरांगना स्वर्गीय किंकरी देवी के अधूरे सपनों को साकार करना है। वे भविष्य में भी इसी तरह भूस्खलन की रोकथाम और पर्यावरण संरक्षण के लिए निरंतर प्रयासरत रहेंगे।

Renowned environmentalist Vijay Kumar Azad, a resident of Siyun village in Sangrah subdivision of Sirmaur district, will be honored at the national level for his invaluable contribution to environmental protection. A national honor ceremony is being organized by the Magic Book and Record Foundation in the National Capital Region, New Delhi (Faridabad), on October 11, 2025, in which eminent personalities from across the country who have made notable contributions in various fields – social service, literature, journalism, medicine, education, industry, art-culture, acting and environment – will be honored with national honors. In this series, Vijay Kumar Azad, bringing glory to Himachal Pradesh, will also be presented with the Environment Icon National Award.

Upon receiving the news of his honor, a wave of joy and pride swept through the entire region. Vijay Kumar Azad has been dedicated to environmental conservation for the past 25 years. He grafts palm trees onto wild Kaithan trees, apples, pears, and peaches, and plants free saplings of Shamalu and Aad to prevent landslides. His work not only keeps the forest wealth lush, providing a wealth of pure air, oxygen, rare herbs, and water sources, but also contributes significantly to maintaining ecological balance. On this occasion, Vijay Kumar Azad stated that his goal is to fulfill the unfulfilled dreams of the late Kinkari Devi, a brave environmentalist. He will continue to strive for landslide prevention and environmental conservation in the future.
