सिरमौर जिले के आंजभोज के भरली गांव के वीर शहीद आशीष कुमार की बहन आराधना (पूजा) के विवाह उत्सव पर सेना की रेजिमेंटल भावना और सैन्य सौहार्द के मार्मिक प्रदर्शन की अनूठी झलक देखने को मिली। शहीद आशीष की बहन की शादी में शहीद की रेजिमेंट के सैनिक और भूतपूर्व सैनिक संगठन पांवटा साहिब और शिलाई क्षेत्र के पूर्व सैनिक शामिल हुए। जिस बहन के भाई एक बहादुर ग्रेनेडियर ने कर्तव्य की राह में सर्वोच्च बलिदान दिया था। इसलिए बहन की शादी के मौके पर इन सैनिकों और पूर्व सैनिकों की उपस्थिति न केवल सम्मान का प्रतीक थी बल्कि यह आश्वासन भी था कि सैना का बंधन सेवा से परे अपने शहीदों के परिवारों तक फैला हुआ है। इस पावन अवसर पर पूरे गर्व के साथ रेजिमेंट से आए सैनिकों ने बहन को बैंक में सावधि जमा (एफडी) के रूप में प्रशंसा शहीद की प्रति तथा भूतपूर्व सैनिक संगठन ने शगुन और स्मृति चिन्ह भेंट किया।

जोकि सैना, रेजिमेंट और सैन्य संगठन का परिवार के साथ खड़े रहने की स्थायी प्रतिबद्धता का प्रतीक है। इस भाव ने उपस्थित सभी के दिलों को छू लिया और सभी को याद दिलाया कि भारतीय सेना अपने नायकों तथा उनके परिजनों को कभी नहीं भूलती। इस अप्रत्याशित सम्मान से अभिभूत दुल्हन ने नम आँखों से सभी का आशीर्वाद प्राप्त किया। बाद में सैनिकों और भूतपूर्व सैनिकों ने बहन‌ को उनके ससुराल तक छोड़कर भाई की पूरी जिम्मेदारी का निर्वहन किया। ग्रेनेडियर रेजिमेंट के जवानों और भूतपूर्व सैनिक संगठन ने अपने कार्यों से यह पुष्टि की कि उनका भाईचारा शाश्वत है। जीवन में भी और उसके बाद भी। शहीदों के परिजनों के प्रति संवेदनशीलता ही सच्ची देशभक्ति है।

संनद रहे कि आशीष कुमार 19 ग्रेनेडियर बटालियन के अंतर्गत अरूणाचल प्रदेश में सेवारत थे। 27 अगस्त 2024 को “ऑपरेशन अलर्ट” के दौरान अपने कर्तव्यों का पालन करते हुए और वीरता का परिचय देते हुए देश को अपना सर्वोच्च बलिदान दिया। इस शादी समारोह में शहीद आशीष की रेजिमेंट से कमान अधिकारी एवं साथियों का संदेश और सम्मान लेकर पधारे हवलदार राकेश कुमार, नायक रामपाल सिंह, नायक मनीष कुमार, ग्रिनेडियर अभिषेक, ग्रिनेडियर आयुष कुमार तथा क्षेत्र से सेना में सेवारत मेजर अनुप तोमर और पैराट्रूपर नदिश कुमार एवं अन्य साथियों के अलावा भूतपूर्व सैनिक संगठन के अध्यक्ष सूबेदार मेजर करनैल सिंह, उपाध्यक्ष हरिंदर सिंह, सचिव ओमप्रकाश चौहान, पूर्व अध्यक्ष वीरेंद्र सिंह, सलाहकार हाकम सिंह व सुरेश कुमार देवा और नेत्र सिंह, मामराज सिंह पृथ्वी सिंह, दिनेश कुमार, नेत्र सिंह, नरेंद्र ठुंडू, देवेंद्र नेगी, सोहन सिंह उपस्थित रहे।

The wedding of Aradhana (Pooja), sister of brave martyr Ashish Kumar of Bharli village, Anjbhoj, Sirmaur district, witnessed a unique display of the Army’s regimental spirit and a touching display of military camaraderie. Soldiers from the martyr’s regiment and veterans’ organizations from Paonta Sahib and Shillai region attended the wedding of martyr Ashish’s sister, whose brother, a valiant Grenadier, had made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty. Therefore, the presence of these soldiers and veterans at the wedding was not only a symbol of respect but also an assurance that the Army’s bond extends beyond service to the families of its martyrs. On this auspicious occasion, soldiers from the regiment proudly presented the sister with a copy of the martyr’s eulogy in the form of a fixed deposit (FD) in a bank, and a shagun (gift) and a memento from the veterans’ organization.

This symbolises the Army, the Regiment and the Military Organisation’s enduring commitment to stand with the family. This gesture touched the hearts of all present and reminded everyone that the Indian Army never forgets its heroes and their families. Overwhelmed by this unexpected honour, the bride, with moist eyes, received everyone’s blessings. Later, the soldiers and veterans fulfilled the full responsibility of a brother by escorting their sister to her in-laws’ house. The soldiers of the Grenadier Regiment and the Veterans’ Organisation, through their actions, confirmed that their brotherhood is eternal, both in life and after. True patriotism lies in sensitivity towards the families of martyrs.

It is worth noting that Ashish Kumar was serving in Arunachal Pradesh under the 19th Grenadier Battalion. On August 27, 2024, during “Operation Alert,” he made the supreme sacrifice for the nation while performing his duties and displaying bravery. At the wedding ceremony, Havildar Rakesh Kumar, Naik Rampal Singh, Naik Manish Kumar, Grenadier Abhishek, Grenadier Ayush Kumar, Major Anup Tomar and Paratrooper Nadish Kumar, serving in the Army from the region, and other comrades, brought messages and tributes from the commanding officer and comrades from martyr Ashish’s regiment. In addition to the President of the Ex-Servicemen Association, Subedar Major Karnail Singh, Vice President Harinder Singh, Secretary Om Prakash Chauhan, former President Virendra Singh, Advisors Hakam Singh and Suresh Kumar Deva, Netra Singh, Mamaraj Singh Prithvi Singh, Dinesh Kumar, Netra Singh, Narendra Thundu, Devendra Negi, and Sohan Singh were present.
