राज्यपाल शिव प्रताप शुक्ल, सीएम सुखविंद्र सिंह सुक्खू और नेता प्रतिपक्ष जयराम ठाकुर ने राष्ट्रपिता महात्मा गांधी व पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री लाल बहादुर शास्त्री को उनकी जयंती पर श्रद्धांजलि दी। नेताओं ने शिमला के रिज मैदान पर राष्ट्रपिता महात्मा गांधी और पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री लाल बहादुर शास्त्री की जयंती पर उनके अद्वितीय योगदान और महान व्यक्तित्व को याद करते हुए श्रद्धासुमन अर्पित किए। सीएम सुक्खू ने कहा कि दोनों महापुरुष हमें सत्य, अहिंसा, सरलता और देशभक्ति की अमूल्य सीख देते हैं।

महात्मा गांधी ने अपने अहिंसात्मक आंदोलन से भारत को स्वतंत्रता की राह दिखाई और लाल बहादुर शास्त्री ने ‘जय जवान, जय किसान’ के नारे से देश के जवानों और किसानों को नई ऊर्जा दी। हम बापू और शास्त्री जी के आदर्शों को अपने जीवन में उतारकर उनके सपनों का देश और प्रदेश बनाने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध हैं। प्रदेश के राज्यपाल शिव प्रताप शुक्ल ने कहा कि महात्मा गांधी ने अंग्रेजों को इस देश से भगाया था। उन्होंने अपना पूरा जीवन समाज और देश के लिए समर्पित कर दिया था… जब तक यह देश रहेगा, हम महात्मा गांधी का सम्मान करते रहेंगे।
