अंतरराष्ट्रीय वरिष्ठ नागरिक दिवस के अवसर पर आज बचत भवन में उपायुक्त मुकेश रेपसवाल की अध्यक्षता में जिला स्तरीय कार्यक्रम का आयोजन किया गया। इस अवसर पर उपायुक्त ने वरिष्ठ नागरिकों को सम्मानित किया तथा उनसे संवाद स्थापित किया। उन्होंने कहा कि वरिष्ठ नागरिक समाज की अमूल्य धरोहर हैं और उनके अनुभव से नई पीढ़ी को प्रेरणा मिलती है। उपायुक्त ने कहा कि जिला प्रशासन वरिष्ठ नागरिकों की समस्याओं के त्वरित समाधान के लिए प्रतिबद्ध है। उन्होंने विभागीय अधिकारियों को निर्देश दिए कि वरिष्ठ नागरिकों की सुविधाओं और अधिकारों के प्रति संवेदनशीलता रखी जाए। मुकेश रेपसवाल ने कहा कि वरिष्ठ नागरिकों का अनुभव समाज में सकारात्मकता लाने तथा गुड गवर्नेंस की दृष्टि से महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका अदा कर सकता है। उन्होंने वरिष्ठ नागरिक फॉर्म से ऐसे सदस्यों की सूची उपलब्ध करवाने का आग्रह किया जो अपनी विशेषज्ञता के आधार पर सेवाएं प्रदान करने के इच्छुक हों।

उन्होंने वरिष्ठ नागरिकों द्वारा रखी गई विभिन्न मांगों तथा सुझावों का समाधान करते हुए सप्ताह में 2 दिन पंडित जवाहरलाल नेहरू राजकीय मेडिकल कॉलेज चंबा में आयुष विभाग की ओपीडी शुरू करने, चंबा के ऐतिहासिक चौगान नंबर एक में शाम 6 से 8 बजे क्रिकेट इत्यादि खेल को प्रतिबंधित करने, चौगान के समीप मोड पर दो पहिया वाहनों की पार्किंग प्रतिबंधित रखने का आश्वासन दिया। साथ में उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि लोगों की सुविधा के दृष्टिगत जिला मुख्यालय से भरमौर चौक, करियाँ, सुल्तानपुर, बालू इत्यादि स्थानों के लिए बेहतर परिवहन सुविधा उपलब्ध करवाने के लिए आवश्यक कदम उठाए जा रहे हैं। मुकेश रेपसवाल ने इससे पहले वरिष्ठ नागरिकों को मफलर एवं टोपी भेंट कर सम्मानित भी किया। कार्यक्रम में वरिष्ठ नागरिकों की विभिन्न समस्याओं के समाधान को लेकर अतिरिक्त पुलिस अधीक्षक, जिला कार्यक्रम अधिकारी स्वास्थ्य, चिकित्सा उप अधीक्षक पंडित जवाहरलाल नेहरू राजकीय मेडिकल कॉलेज, वरिष्ठ कार्यकारी अधिकारी नगर परिषद ने संबंधित जानकारी साझा की।

अखिल भारतीय वरिष्ठ नागरिक फॉर्म के जिला महासचिव एसके गुप्ता ने वरिष्ठ नागरिकों की समस्याओं को रखा। कार्यक्रम में कार्यवाहक जिला कल्याण अधिकारी राज बहादुर ने स्वागत संबोधन रखते हुए वरिष्ठ नागरिकों के कल्याणार्थ विभिन्न विभागीय योजनाओं की जानकारी प्रदान की। अतिरिक्त पुलिस अधीक्षक हितेश लखनपाल, वरिष्ठ कार्यकारी अधिकारी नगर परिषद राखी कौशल, प्रबंधक अग्रणी बैंक डीसी चौहान, जिला आयुष अधिकारी डॉ. प्रदीप शर्मा, जिला कार्यक्रम अधिकारी स्वास्थ्य डॉ. कर्ण हितैषी, चिकित्सा उप अधीक्षक पंडित जवाहरलाल नेहरू राजकीय मेडिकल कॉलेज डॉ. हर्ष, सहायक अभियंता जल शक्ति गौरव कुमार,कनिष्ठ अभियंता नीतिका ठाकुर, तहसील कल्याण अधिकारी अक्षय कुमार उपस्थित रहे। कार्यक्रम में पीएम श्री राजकीय वरिष्ठ कन्या माध्यमिक विद्यालय चंबा की छात्राओं कुमारी तारामणि, कुमारी दीक्षा ने भी वरिष्ठ नागरिकों के समाज में योगदान और सम्मान को लेकर अपना संबोधन दिया। उपायुक्त मुकेश रेपसवाल ने प्रतिभागी छात्राओं को पुरस्कार के रूप में स्मृति चिन्ह प्रदान किए। उपायुक्त मुकेश रेपसवाल ने इन वरिष्ठ नागरिकों को सम्मानित किया, निर्मला चौहान, प्यार सिंह, पीएल ठाकुर, आईपी शर्मा, मंजीत सिंह जसरोटिया, ईश्वरी प्रसाद, एसके गुप्ता।

On the occasion of International Senior Citizens Day, a district-level program was organized today at the Savings Building, chaired by Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repaswal. On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner honored senior citizens and interacted with them. He stated that senior citizens are an invaluable asset to society, and their experiences inspire the new generation. The Deputy Commissioner stated that the district administration is committed to promptly resolving senior citizens’ problems. He directed departmental officials to be sensitive to their privileges and rights. Mukesh Repaswal stated that the experience of senior citizens can play an important role in bringing positivity to society and promoting good governance. He urged the Senior Citizens Forum to provide a list of members willing to provide services based on their expertise.

Addressing various demands and suggestions raised by senior citizens, he promised to open an OPD for the AYUSH department at Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Government Medical College, Chamba, two days a week, ban cricket and other sports from 6 to 8 pm at Chamba’s historic Chaugan No. 1, and prohibit parking of two-wheelers at the turn near the Chaugan. He also stated that necessary steps are being taken to provide better transportation facilities from the district headquarters to Bharmour Chowk, Karian, Sultanpur, Balu, and other places for public convenience. Mukesh Repaswal earlier honored senior citizens by presenting them with mufflers and caps. At the event, the Additional Superintendent of Police, District Program Officer, Health, Medical Deputy Superintendent, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Government Medical College, and Senior Executive Officer, Municipal Council, shared relevant information regarding the resolution of various problems faced by senior citizens.

SK Gupta, District General Secretary of the All India Senior Citizens Forum, highlighted the problems faced by senior citizens. Acting District Welfare Officer Raj Bahadur delivered the welcome address, providing information on various departmental schemes for the welfare of senior citizens. Additional Superintendent of Police Hitesh Lakhanpal, Senior Executive Officer of the Municipal Council Rakhi Kaushal, Manager of Leading Bank DC Chauhan, District AYUSH Officer Dr. Pradeep Sharma, District Program Officer of Health Dr. Karna Hiteshi, Medical Deputy Superintendent of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Government Medical College Dr. Harsh, Assistant Engineer Jal Shakti Gaurav Kumar, Junior Engineer Nitika Thakur, and Tehsil Welfare Officer Akshay Kumar were present. Kumari Taramani and Kumari Diksha, students of PM Shri Government Senior Girls Secondary School, Chamba, also spoke at the event, highlighting the contribution and respect of senior citizens in society. Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repaswal presented mementos to the participating students as prizes.
