नाहन का ऐतिहासिक चौगान मैदान इन दिनों बदहाल स्थिति में है। खेलकूद और अन्य गतिविधियों के लिए यहां आने वाले युवाओं को भारी कठिनाइयों का सामना करना पड़ रहा है। स्थानीय लोगों का आरोप है कि नगर परिषद मैदान से आमदनी तो वसूल रही है, लेकिन इसके रख-रखाव और सौंदर्यीकरण पर कोई ठोस कदम नहीं उठा रही। हाल ही में भर्ती की तैयारी कर रहे युवाओं ने खुद ही मैदान को ठीक किया। तेज हवाओं से गिरे पेड़ एक माह बाद भी नहीं हटाए गए हैं और टूटी रेलिंग भी जस की तस पड़ी है। युवाओं का कहना है कि मेले के एक सप्ताह बाद भी मैदान समतल नहीं हुआ, जिससे उनकी तैयारियों में बाधा आ रही है।

फुटबॉल एसोसिएशन द्वारा आयोजित टूर्नामेंट के समय मैदान को समतल किया गया था, लेकिन यह काम भी नगर परिषद ने नहीं बल्कि एसोसिएशन ने किया।नगर परिषद के कार्यकारी अध्यक्ष संजय ने कहा कि भविष्य में एमसी और संस्थान मिलकर श्रमदान करेंगे और अगली बैठक में चौगान मैदान के रख-रखाव और सौंदर्यीकरण पर विस्तृत चर्चा की जाएगी। उन्होंने दावा किया कि हाल ही में मैदान की सफाई करवाई गई है, लेकिन बारिश के बाद मैदान की हालत खराब हो जाती है।स्थानीय लोगों और युवाओं का मानना है कि चौगान मैदान जैसे ऐतिहासिक स्थल की नियमित देखरेख न होने से खेल और सांस्कृतिक गतिविधियों पर नकारात्मक असर पड़ रहा है।

Locals allege that the Municipal Council is collecting revenue from the ground, but is not taking any concrete steps towards its maintenance and beautification. Recently, youth preparing for recruitment repaired the ground themselves. Trees that fell due to strong winds have not been removed even after a month and the broken railings are also lying in place. Youths say that even after a week of the fair, the ground has not been leveled, which is hampering their preparations.

The ground was leveled during a tournament organized by the Football Association, but this work was done by the association, not the Municipal Council. Sanjay, the acting president of the Municipal Council, stated that in the future, the Municipal Council and the organization would jointly contribute labor, and that the maintenance and beautification of the Chaugan Ground would be discussed in detail at the next meeting. He claimed that the ground had been cleaned recently, but its condition deteriorates after rain. Locals and youth believe that the lack of regular maintenance of a historical site like the Chaugan Ground is negatively impacting sports and cultural activities.
