मुख्यमंत्री ठाकुर सुखविंद्र सिंह सुक्खू के नेतृत्व में राज्य सरकार ने राज्य भर में बिजली सेवाओं को और अधिक मजबूत करने के लिए हिमाचल प्रदेश राज्य विद्युत बोर्ड लिमिटेड (एचपीएसईबीएल) में 1,602 बिजली उपभोक्ता मित्रों और 1,000 टी-मेट की नियुक्ति को मंजूरी दी है। हाल ही के दशकों में यह पहली बार है कि किसी सरकारी स्वामित्व वाली कंपनी के इतिहास में इतनी बड़ी संख्या में युवाओं की भर्ती की जाएगी। एक सरकारी प्रवक्ता ने बताया कि यह निर्णय फील्ड स्टाफ की कमी को दूर करने और उपभोक्ताओं को निर्बाध बिजली आपूर्ति सुनिश्चित करने के उद्देश्य से लिया गया है।

वर्तमान में, टी-मेट के 4,009 स्वीकृत पद हैं, जिनमें से 3,049 खाली पड़े हैं, जिससे परिचालन मे समस्याएं और सेवाओं की गुणवत्ता प्रभावित हो रही है। इस स्थिति से निपटने के लिए, सरकार ने टी-मेट के 1,000 पदों को भरने के साथ-साथ वृत्त स्तर पर टी-मेट के रिक्त पदों के स्थान पर 1,602 बिजली उपभोक्ता मित्रों को नियुक्त करने का निर्णय लिया है। बिजली उपभोक्ता मित्रों की नियुक्ति एक अधिकृत सरकारी एजेंसी द्वारा उन पात्र उम्मीदवारों में से की जाएगी, जो दसवीं पास हैं और किसी मान्यता प्राप्त संस्थान से इलेक्ट्रिकल/वायरमैन ट्रेड में आईटीआई प्रमाण पत्र प्राप्त किया है। आवेदकों के लिए निर्धारित आयु सीमा 18 से 30 वर्ष है।

प्रवक्ता ने कहा कि फील्ड कर्मचारी एचपीएसईबीएल की रीढ़ हैं, जो कुशल सेवाओं के माध्यम से निर्बाध बिजली आपूर्ति सुनिश्चित करते हैं और आपदाओं के दौरान बिजली बहाल करने के साथ ही क्षतिग्रस्त बुनियादी विद्युत ढांचे की मरम्मत में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाते हैं। विद्युत क्षेत्र में कार्यबल को मजबूत करने से उपभोक्ताओं को लाभ होगा। उन्होंने कहा कि यह पहल बिजली उपभोक्ताओं के लिए बेहतर सेवाएं सुनिश्चित करने के लिए सरकार की प्रतिबद्धता को दर्शाती है, साथ ही स्थानीय युवाओं के लिए रोजगार के अवसर प्रदान करती है। मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि वर्तमान सरकार के कार्यकाल के दौरान अब तक सरकारी क्षेत्र में 23,191 युवाओं को रोज़गार प्रदान किया गया है। उन्होंने कहा कि भविष्य में राज्य सरकार द्वारा युवाओं के लिए रोज़गार के साथ-साथ स्वरोज़गार के नए अवसर सृजित किए जाएंगे।

The state government, led by Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, has approved the appointment of 1,602 Bijli Upbhokta Mitras and 1,000 T-Mates in the Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited (HPSEBL) to further strengthen power services across the state. This is the first time in recent decades that such a large number of youth will be recruited in the history of any state-owned company. A government spokesperson said the decision was taken to address the shortage of field staff and ensure uninterrupted power supply to consumers.

Currently, there are 4,009 sanctioned T-Mate posts, of which 3,049 are vacant, causing operational problems and affecting the quality of services. To address this situation, the government has decided to fill 1,000 T-Mate posts and appoint 1,602 Bijli Upbhokta Mitras to fill the vacant T-Mate posts at the circle level. Bijli Upbhokta Mitras will be recruited by an authorized government agency from eligible candidates who have passed the 10th standard and have obtained an ITI certificate in the Electrical/Wireman trade from a recognized institute. The prescribed age limit for applicants is 18 to 30 years.

The spokesperson said that field workers are the backbone of HPSEBL, ensuring uninterrupted power supply through efficient services and playing a vital role in restoring power during disasters and repairing damaged power infrastructure. Strengthening the workforce in the power sector will benefit consumers. He said this initiative reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring better services for power consumers and providing employment opportunities for local youth. The Chief Minister said that during the current government’s tenure, 23,191 youth have been provided employment in the government sector so far. He said that in the future, the state government will create new employment and self-employment opportunities for the youth.
