शिमला शहर में अवैध गैस सिलेंडरों की आपूर्ति की गुप्त सूचना मिलते ही जिला दण्डाधिकारी अनुपम कश्यप ने तुरंत कार्रवाई के आदेश दिए। एडीएम लॉ एंड ऑर्डर पंकज शर्मा की अध्यक्षता में गठित टीम ने भट्ठाकुफ़र में नाका लगाकर यूपी नंबर वाले ट्रक को रोका। जांच में ट्रक से 190 सिलेंडर जब्त किए गए, जिनमें 60 भरे हुए और 130 खाली सिलेंडर शामिल थे। ट्रक चालक ने बताया कि ये सिलेंडर मोहाली से लाए गए थे और शिमला की चार एजेंसियों — हिमालयन गैस एजेंसी शोघी, इशिता गैस एजेंसी टूटू, कपरेट एजेंसी संजौली और हिमालयन गैस एजेंसी कुफरी को सप्लाई किए जाने थे। इनमें शोघी और संजौली की एजेंसियों को पहले ही सिलेंडरों की डिलीवरी दी जा चुकी थी। टीम ने ट्रक में बचे 60 भरे सिलेंडरों को जब्त कर लिया।

जांच के दौरान यह बड़ा खुलासा हुआ कि जिन एजेंसियों के नाम पर आपूर्ति हो रही थी, उनके पास जिला प्रशासन की ओर से जारी एक्सक्लूसिव सर्टिफिकेट ही नहीं था। बिलों में भी प्रमाण पत्र का कोई जिक्र नहीं था। अब मोहाली गैस एजेंसी भी जांच के दायरे में आ गई है, जिसने बिना अनुमति के यह आपूर्ति भेजी थी। यह पहली कार्रवाई नहीं है। 26 अगस्त 2025 को भी गुप्त सूचना पर कार्रवाई करते हुए प्रशासन ने तीन गाड़ियों से 361 अवैध सिलेंडर बरामद किए थे। उस मामले की जांच अभी जारी है। जिला दण्डाधिकारी अनुपम कश्यप ने कहा कि आम जनता की सुरक्षा के साथ खिलवाड़ किसी भी सूरत में बर्दाश्त नहीं किया जाएगा। गैस आपूर्ति जैसे संवेदनशील कार्य में लगे लोगों को सभी प्रोटोकॉल का पालन करना होगा, अन्यथा उनके विरुद्ध कठोर कार्रवाई की जाएगी।

District Magistrate Anupam Kashyap ordered immediate action after receiving secret information about the supply of illegal gas cylinders in Shimla city. A team formed under the chairmanship of ADM Law and Order Pankaj Sharma stopped a truck with UP number by setting up a check post at Bhattakufar. During investigation, 190 cylinders were seized from the truck, which included 60 filled and 130 empty cylinders. The truck driver told that these cylinders were brought from Mohali and were to be supplied to four agencies of Shimla – Himalayan Gas Agency Shoghi, Ishita Gas Agency Tutu, Kapret Agency Sanjauli and Himalayan Gas Agency Kufri. Of these, cylinders had already been delivered to the agencies of Shoghi and Sanjauli. The team seized the remaining 60 filled cylinders in the truck.

During the investigation, it was revealed that the agencies in whose name the supply was being made did not have the exclusive certificate issued by the district administration. There was no mention of the certificate in the bills as well. Now the Mohali Gas Agency has also come under the purview of investigation, which had sent this supply without permission. This is not the first action. On 26 August 2025 also, acting on secret information, the administration had recovered 361 illegal cylinders from three vehicles. The investigation of that case is still going on. District Magistrate Anupam Kashyap said that tampering with the safety of the general public will not be tolerated under any circumstances. People engaged in sensitive work like gas supply will have to follow all the protocols, otherwise strict action will be taken against them.
