भाजपा के मुख्य प्रवक्ता एवं शिलाई से मंत्री हर्षवर्धन चौहान के प्रतिद्वंद्वी बलदेव तोमर ने चौहान के हालिया बयान पर करारा पलटवार किया है। उन्होंने कहा कि कांग्रेस सरकार का रवैया साफ दर्शाता है कि उन्हें हिमाचल की जनता को राहत मिलने से चिढ़ है। जीएसटी दरों में कमी से जब हर वर्ग को फायदा हो रहा है, तब कांग्रेस के मंत्री इसे “1000 करोड़ का नुकसान” बता रहे हैं। तोमर ने कहा कि जीएसटी की पूरी व्यवस्था में राज्यों का भी बराबर हिस्सा होता है। SGST (State GST) और IGST (Integrated GST) से हिमाचल को लगातार राजस्व मिलता रहा है। सवाल यह है कि इतने वर्षों से हिमाचल को जीएसटी का जो हजारों करोड़ रुपये का हिस्सा मिला, वह आखिर गया कहां? कांग्रेस सरकार बताये कि उस पैसे से कितने स्कूल, कितने अस्पताल या कितनी सड़कें बनीं।

सच्चाई यह है कि जनता को इसका कोई लाभ नहीं मिला और पैसा सत्ता सुख में ही खर्च हुआ। उन्होंने तीखे अंदाज में कहा कि आज जब केंद्र की मोदी सरकार ने महंगाई से जूझ रही जनता को राहत देने के लिए जीएसटी दरें घटाई, तो कांग्रेस को जनता की खुशी हजम नहीं हो रही। कांग्रेस नेताओं को सिर्फ घाटा दिखाई दे रहा है, फायदा नहीं। यह जनता-विरोधी मानसिकता का सबसे बड़ा प्रमाण है। बलदेव तोमर ने कहा कि कांग्रेस पार्टी की दोहरी सोच जगजाहिर है। राहुल गांधी एक दिन कहते हैं कि जीएसटी खत्म कर दो और उनके मंत्री अगले दिन कहते हैं कि जीएसटी दरें घटाने से राज्य को घाटा हो रहा है। लगता है कांग्रेस के लिए न तो जनता की भलाई मायने रखती है और न ही आर्थिक स्थिरता, उन्हें सिर्फ सियासी हेडलाइन चाहिए। उन्होंने सवाल उठाया कि ढाई साल में हिमाचल सरकार ने 38 हजार करोड़ रुपये का कर्ज लिया। प्रदेश की आमदनी भी लगातार बढ़ रही है। इसके बावजूद जनता को विकास और रोजगार के नाम पर क्या मिला? बिजली–पानी महंगे, पेट्रोल-डीजल पर टैक्स की मार, बेरोजगार युवाओं को सिर्फ झूठे वादे और हर मोर्चे पर कर्ज का बोझ।

तोमर ने कहा कि कांग्रेस सरकार जीएसटी दरों में कमी को घाटा बता कर जनता को गुमराह कर रही है, जबकि असलियत यह है कि इससे हर उपभोक्ता, हर व्यापारी और हर गृहणी को राहत मिली है। जिस चीज को कांग्रेस घाटा बता रही है, वही दरअसल जनता के लिए आर्थिक मदद है। उन्होंने चेतावनी दी कि भाजपा जनता को गुमराह करने के इन प्रयासों को बर्दाश्त नहीं करेगी। कांग्रेस को पहले यह बताना चाहिए कि अब तक जीएसटी और कर्ज से मिले हजारों करोड़ रुपये किस मद में खर्च हुए। जनता को राहत देने की बजाय सिर्फ रोना-धोना करना उनकी आदत बन गई है। अंत में बलदेव तोमर ने कहा – “जनता की राहत भाजपा के लिए गर्व की बात है, लेकिन कांग्रेस के लिए परेशानी। यही फर्क है भाजपा और कांग्रेस की सोच में। हिमाचल की जनता सब समझ रही है और समय आने पर इसका हिसाब जरूर देगी।”

Baldev Tomar, BJP’s chief spokesperson and Shillai minister Harshvardhan Chauhan’s rival, has strongly countered Chauhan’s recent statement. He said that the attitude of the Congress government clearly shows that they are annoyed with the relief being given to the people of Himachal. When every section is benefiting from the reduction in GST rates, the Congress ministers are calling it a “loss of Rs 1000 crore”. Tomar said that the states also have an equal share in the entire GST system. Himachal has been continuously getting revenue from SGST (State GST) and IGST (Integrated GST). The question is where did the thousands of crores of rupees of GST that Himachal received for so many years go? The Congress government should tell how many schools, hospitals or roads were built with that money.

The truth is that the public did not get any benefit from this and the money was spent only on the pleasures of power. He said in a sharp manner that today when the Modi government at the Center reduced the GST rates to give relief to the people struggling with inflation, the Congress is not able to digest the happiness of the people. Congress leaders are only seeing losses, not benefits. This is the biggest proof of anti-people mentality. Baldev Tomar said that the double thinking of the Congress party is well known. Rahul Gandhi says one day to abolish GST and his ministers say the next day that the state is incurring losses due to reduction in GST rates. It seems that neither the welfare of the people nor economic stability matters for the Congress, they only want political headlines. He raised the question that in two and a half years, the Himachal government took a loan of Rs 38 thousand crores. The income of the state is also increasing continuously. Despite this, what did the public get in the name of development and employment? Electricity and water are expensive, tax burden on petrol and diesel, only false promises to unemployed youth and burden of debt on every front.

Tomar said that the Congress government is misleading the public by calling the reduction in GST rates a loss, while the reality is that every consumer, every businessman and every housewife has got relief from this. What the Congress is calling a loss is actually financial help for the public. He warned that the BJP will not tolerate these attempts to mislead the public. The Congress should first tell on which head the thousands of crores of rupees received from GST and loan have been spent so far. Instead of giving relief to the public, it has become their habit to just cry and wail. In the end, Baldev Tomar said – “Relief of the public is a matter of pride for the BJP, but a problem for the Congress. This is the difference in the thinking of the BJP and the Congress. The people of Himachal are understanding everything and will definitely give an account of it when the time comes.”
