मनाली पुलिस को नशा तस्करी के खिलाफ बड़ी सफलता हाथ लगी है। पुलिस ने गुप्त सूचना के आधार पर वोल्वो बस स्टैंड के पास एक कार से 258.750 ग्राम हेरोइन (चिट्टा), एक पिस्टल, दो जिंदा रौंद और एक मैगजीन बरामद कर चार आरोपियों को गिरफ्तार किया है। घटना बुधवार देर रात की है जब पुलिस ने वोल्वो बस स्टैंड में आई-20 कार (नंबर PB 18 U 8718) को रोका। गाड़ी में सवार चार लोग पुलिस को देखकर घबरा गए, जिसके चलते पुलिस ने शक के आधार पर वाहन की तलाशी ली। तलाशी के दौरान भारी मात्रा में हेरोइन और हथियार बरामद हुए।

गिरफ्तार आरोपियों की पहचान संजय कुमार (40 वर्ष) निवासी गांव व डाकघर सिद्धपुर, तहसील धर्मपुर, जिला मंडी, हरमोहित दीप सिंह (22 वर्ष) निवासी गांव जहादपुर, डाकघर जतोसरजा, तहसील बटाला, जिला गुरदासपुर, पंजाब, कृष्णा सिंह उर्फ मनीष (29 वर्ष) निवासी गांव खगोल, डाकघर दानापुर, जिला पटना, बिहार, वर्तमान में हजारा, जालंधर, पंजाब में रह रहा था और मंदीप सिंह (30 वर्ष) निवासी गांव जहादपुर, डाकघर जतोसरजा, तहसील बटाला, जिला गुरदासपुर पंजाब के ताैर पर हुई है। डीएसपी कुल्लू क्षमादत्त शर्मा ने जानकारी दी कि आरोपियों के खिलाफ पुलिस थाना मनाली में एनडीपीएस एक्ट की धारा 21, 25, 29 और आर्म्स एक्ट की धारा 25 के तहत मामला दर्ज कर लिया गया है। सभी आरोपियों से पूछताछ जारी है और यह भी जांच की जा रही है कि नशे की यह खेप कहां से लाई गई थी और कहां पहुंचाई जानी थी।

Manali police has achieved a big success against drug smuggling. On the basis of secret information, the police recovered 258.750 grams of heroin (chitta), a pistol, two live rounds and a magazine from a car near the Volvo bus stand and arrested four accused. The incident happened late Wednesday night when the police stopped an I-20 car (number PB 18 U 8718) at the Volvo bus stand. The four people in the car panicked after seeing the police, due to which the police searched the vehicle on the basis of suspicion. During the search, a huge amount of heroin and weapons were recovered.

The arrested accused have been identified as Sanjay Kumar (40 years) resident of village and post office Sidhpur, Tehsil Dharampur, District Mandi, Harmohit Deep Singh (22 years) resident of village Jahadpur, post office Jatosarja, Tehsil Batala, District Gurdaspur, Punjab, Krishna Singh alias Manish (29 years) resident of village Khagol, post office Danapur, District Patna, Bihar, presently living in Hazara, Jalandhar, Punjab and Mandeep Singh (30 years) resident of village Jahadpur, post office Jatosarja, Tehsil Batala, District Gurdaspur, Punjab. DSP Kullu Kshamadatta Sharma informed that a case has been registered against the accused in Police Station Manali under Sections 21, 25, 29 of the NDPS Act and Section 25 of the Arms Act. Interrogation of all the accused is going on and it is also being investigated from where this consignment of drugs was brought and where it was to be delivered.
