सिरमौर ज़िले के उपमंडल संगड़ाह में लगातार हो रही भारी बारिश ने लोगों की मुश्किलें बढ़ा दी हैं। सड़कें बंद होने से आवागमन बाधित है और इसी बीच कजवा गाँव की एक गर्भवती महिला को ग्रामीणों ने करीब 12 किमी. तक चारपाई पर उठाकर अस्पताल पहुँचाया। समय पर पहुँचने से महिला और नवजात शिशु की जान बच गई। 28 वर्षीय निशा को प्रसव पीड़ा शुरू हुई तो उसके पति हेमचंद और ग्रामीणों ने मिलकर उसे चारपाई पर बिठाया और संगड़ाह अस्पताल तक ले गए। रास्ते में कीचड़ और मलबे के कारण किराए की गाड़ी को कई बार धक्का भी लगाना पड़ा।

हेमचंद ने सफल प्रसव के लिए ग्रामीणों और स्वास्थ्यकर्मियों का आभार जताया। आमतौर पर पहली डिलीवरी के मामलों को मेडिकल कॉलेज नाहन रेफर किया जाता है, लेकिन सड़कों के बंद होने और प्रसव में देरी न होने के कारण स्वास्थ्य अधिकारी डॉ. वैभव ने संगड़ाह में ही सफल डिलीवरी करवाई। हिमाचल के पहले मुख्यमंत्री डॉ. परमार के गृह क्षेत्र की सीएचसी संगड़ाह को आदर्श अस्पताल घोषित किया गया है, लेकिन यहाँ एक्सरे, अल्ट्रासाउंड और जनरेटर जैसी बुनियादी सुविधाओं का अभाव है। डॉक्टरों के 10 स्वीकृत पदों में से सिर्फ़ एक ही नियमित चिकित्सक मौजूद है। इसके अलावा, बिजली विभाग का कार्यालय बंद रहने से कई बार घंटों बिजली गुल रहती है और जनरेटर न होने से मरीजों को अंधेरे में रहना पड़ता है।

The continuous heavy rain in the subdivision Sangrah of Sirmaur district has increased the difficulties of the people. Traffic is disrupted due to the closure of roads and in the meantime, a pregnant woman of Kajwa village was carried on a cot for about 12 km by the villagers to the hospital. The life of the woman and the newborn baby was saved due to timely arrival. When 28-year-old Nisha started having labor pains, her husband Hemchand and the villagers together made her sit on a cot and took her to Sangrah hospital. Due to mud and debris on the way, the hired vehicle had to be pushed several times.

Hemchand thanked the villagers and health workers for the successful delivery. Usually, cases of first delivery are referred to Medical College Nahan, but due to the closure of roads and delay in delivery, health officer Dr. Vaibhav conducted a successful delivery in Sangrah itself. CHC Sangrah of the home area of Himachal’s first Chief Minister Dr. Parmar has been declared an ideal hospital, but it lacks basic facilities like X-ray, ultrasound and generator. Out of 10 sanctioned posts of doctors, only one regular doctor is present. Apart from this, due to the closure of the electricity department office, there is often power cut for hours and due to the absence of generator, patients have to live in the dark.
