किसानों ने मंगलवार को बरसात के बीच स्मार्ट मीटर लगाने के खिलाफ जोरदार प्रदर्शन किया। इस दौरान उन्होंने शिव मंदिर बद्रीपुर से विद्युत विभाग व एसडीएम कार्यालय तक विरोध रैली निकाली और जमकर नारेबाजी की। किसानों का कहना है कि स्मार्ट मीटर लगाने से उन पर अतिरिक्त वित्तीय बोझ बढ़ गया है और बिजली की आपूर्ति भी नियमित नहीं हो पा रही। संयुक्त किसान मोर्चा पांवटा साहिब के बैनर तले हुए इस धरना-प्रदर्शन में किसानों ने “स्मार्ट मीटर लगाना बंद करो” और “एक्शन मुर्दाबाद” जैसे नारे लगाए। बद्रीपुर स्थित बिजली विभाग कार्यालय के सामने रैली और धरना दिया गया। इस दौरान किसानों ने अधिशासी अभियंता को ज्ञापन सौंपने की कोशिश की, लेकिन उनके मौजूद न होने से किसानों का गुस्सा और भड़क गया।

किसानों ने साफ चेतावनी दी कि अधिकारी किसानों से माफी मांगें और उनकी समस्याओं का गंभीर समाधान करें। आंदोलनकारियों ने एसडीएम पांवटा के माध्यम से सरकार को ज्ञापन भी सौंपा और त्वरित कार्रवाई की मांग की। किसानों ने कहा कि यदि उनकी मांगें पूरी नहीं हुईं, तो वे और बड़े आंदोलन की ओर बढ़ेंगे। संयुक्त किसान मोर्चा ने स्पष्ट किया कि स्मार्ट मीटर सिर्फ तकनीकी सुधार का नाम नहीं, बल्कि किसानों के लिए आर्थिक बोझ है। वहीं, स्थानीय लोगों ने भी माना कि बिजली की बढ़ती कीमतें और नई नीतियां किसानों की परेशानी बढ़ा रही हैं। प्रदर्शन में भारी संख्या में किसानों की भागीदारी ने साफ कर दिया है कि पांवटा साहिब के किसान अपनी मांगों को लेकर गंभीर हैं और आने वाले समय में आंदोलन और तेज हो सकता है।

The rally and protest were held in front of the Electricity Department office in Badripur. During this, the farmers tried to submit a memorandum to the Executive Engineer, but due to his absence, the anger of the farmers flared up further.

The farmers clearly warned that the officials should apologize to the farmers and find a serious solution to their problems. The agitators also submitted a memorandum to the government through SDM Paonta and demanded immediate action. The farmers said that if their demands are not met, they will move towards a bigger movement. The United Kisan Morcha clarified that smart meters are not just a name for technical improvement, but an economic burden for the farmers.
