लगातार मूसलाधार बारिश और भूस्खलन से बेहाल हिमाचल प्रदेश को राज्य सरकार ने आधिकारिक तौर पर आपदा प्रभावित राज्य घोषित कर दिया है। भारी तबाही और हजारों करोड़ के जान-माल के नुकसान के बीच अब प्रदेश को केंद्र सरकार की मदद का इंतज़ार है। इसी कड़ी में सिरमौर जिला के मजदूर नेता प्रदीप चौहान ने प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी से भावुक अपील की है। उन्होंने कहा कि “प्रधानमंत्री जी, देर होने से पहले उस राज्य को बचा लीजिए जिसे आपने कितनी बार अपने भाषणों में अपना ‘दूसरा घर’ कहा है। आज वही दूसरा घर हिमाचल आपदा की सबसे बड़ी मार झेल रहा है।”

प्रदीप चौहान ने अपने बयान में कहा कि प्रदेश के सैकड़ों लोग बेघर, किसान अपनी मेहनत की फसल बर्बाद होते देख रहे हैं, बच्चे और बुजुर्ग सुरक्षित छत की तलाश में हैं। टूटी-बिखरी सड़कें और लगातार हो रही बारिश से जनजीवन पूरी तरह अस्त-व्यस्त हो चुका है। उन्होंने आगे कहा कि सिरमौर से लेकर चंबा, कुल्लू, लाहौल-स्पीति, मंडी, कांगड़ा, शिमला और हमीरपुर तक—हर जगह लोग केंद्र सरकार की आर्थिक मदद और सहारे की उम्मीद लगाए बैठे हैं। प्रदीप चौहान ने भाजपा नेताओं से भी आग्रह किया कि वे इस कठिन समय में आगे आएँ और प्रधानमंत्री को हिमाचल की मदद के लिए विशेष राहत पैकेज की सिफारिश करें।

The state government has officially declared Himachal Pradesh, which is suffering from continuous torrential rains and landslides, as a disaster-affected state. Amidst the massive destruction and loss of life and property worth thousands of crores, the state is now waiting for the help of the central government. In this connection, the labor leader of Sirmaur district, Pradeep Chauhan, has made an emotional appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said, “Prime Minister, before it is too late, please save the state which you have called your ‘second home’ so many times in your speeches. Today, that second home Himachal is bearing the brunt of the disaster.”

Pradeep Chauhan said in his statement that hundreds of people of the state are homeless, farmers are seeing their hard-earned crops getting destroyed, children and the elderly are looking for a safe shelter. Life has been completely disrupted due to broken roads and continuous rain. He further said that from Sirmaur to Chamba, Kullu, Lahaul-Spiti, Mandi, Kangra, Shimla and Hamirpur – everywhere people are waiting for financial help and support from the central government. Pradeep Chauhan also urged BJP leaders to come forward in this difficult time and recommend a special relief package to the Prime Minister to help Himachal.
