श्री गुरु गोबिन्द सिंह जी राजकीय महाविद्यालय पांवटा साहिब में “राष्ट्रीय युवा दिवस” के उपलक्ष्य में एचआईवी-एड्स रोकथाम के प्रति जागरूकता रैली का आयोजन किया गया। रैली का मुख्य उद्देश्य विद्यार्थियों और समुदाय को एचआईवी-एड्स संबंधी सही जानकारी देना तथा सुरक्षित जीवनशैली अपनाने के लिए प्रेरित करना रहा। यह रैली रेड रिबन क्लब, एनएसएस, एनसीसी, रेंजर्स और रोवर्स इकाई के संयुक्त सहयोग से तथा सारधा संस्था (SARDHA – Social Action for Rural Development of Hilly Areas) के सहयोग से आयोजित की गई। बड़ी संख्या में छात्र-छात्राओं ने इसमें भाग लिया।

महाविद्यालय प्राचार्य डॉ. जगदीश चौहान ने मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में उपस्थित होकर रैली को हरी झंडी दिखाकर रवाना किया। रैली देवीनगर, कनाल रोड, फ्रेंड्स कॉलोनी होते हुए शुभखेरा से वापस महाविद्यालय में संपन्न हुई। कार्यक्रम के दौरान प्रोजेक्ट मैनेजर अजय सिंह एवं हेल्थ काउंसलर अर्चना ने विद्यार्थियों को एड्स, टीबी, हेपेटाइटिस व अन्य यौन जनित रोगों के बारे में विस्तृत जानकारी दी। इस अवसर पर रेड रिबन क्लब इंचार्ज डॉ. जसवंत सैनी, प्रो. वंदना कंसल, प्रो. तनु चंदेल, प्रो. दिनेश, एनसीसी बॉयज़ विंग इंचार्ज प्रो. संदीप शर्मा, रोवर एंड रेंजर इंचार्ज प्रो. नंदिनी कंवर, इको क्लब इंचार्ज प्रो. प्रीति, एनएसएस इंचार्ज डॉ. अरुण दफ़्रेयिक सहित अन्य प्राध्यापकगण भी मौजूद रहे।रैली के माध्यम से विद्यार्थियों ने संदेश दिया कि “जागरूकता ही एचआईवी-एड्स से बचाव का सबसे सशक्त उपाय है।”

An awareness rally on HIV-AIDS prevention was organized on the occasion of “National Youth Day” at Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Government College, Paonta Sahib. The main objective of the rally was to give correct information about HIV-AIDS to the students and the community and to motivate them to adopt a safe lifestyle. This rally was organized in collaboration with the Red Ribbon Club, NSS, NCC, Rangers and Rovers unit and with the support of SARDHA (Social Action for Rural Development of Hilly Areas). A large number of students participated in it.

College Principal Dr. Jagdish Chauhan attended the rally as the chief guest and flagged off the rally. The rally concluded at the college from Devinagar, Canal Road, Friends Colony to Shubhkhera. During the program, Project Manager Ajay Singh and Health Counselor Archana gave detailed information to the students about AIDS, TB, Hepatitis and other sexually transmitted diseases. On this occasion, Red Ribbon Club Incharge Dr. Jaswant Saini, Prof. Vandana Kansal, Prof. Tanu Chandel, Prof. Dinesh, NCC Boys Wing Incharge Prof. Sandeep Sharma, Rover and Ranger Incharge Prof. Nandini Kanwar, Eco Club Incharge Prof. Preeti, NSS Incharge Dr. Arun Dafreik and other professors were also present. Through the rally, the students gave the message that “Awareness is the most powerful way to prevent HIV-AIDS.”
