सिरमौर जिले के नाहन में उपायुक्त प्रियंका वर्मा की अध्यक्षता में जिला स्तरीय नशा निरोधक समन्वय समिति की बैठक आयोजित हुई। बैठक में मादक पदार्थों के खतरे को रोकने के लिए कानून प्रवर्तन एजेंसियों के बीच बेहतर समन्वय स्थापित करने पर जोर दिया गया। जिला पुलिस प्रशासन ने बताया कि वर्ष 2025 में अब तक 113 अभियोग एनडीपीएस अधिनियम के तहत दर्ज किए गए हैं। पिछले वर्ष की तुलना में इस वर्ष मामलों में 77 प्रतिशत की वृद्धि हुई है। समिति को जानकारी दी गई कि किसानों को अवैध अफीम और भांग की खेती के खिलाफ जागरूक किया जा रहा है। जिले के विभिन्न क्षेत्रों में भांग की प्राकृतिक खेती को उखाड़ने का कार्य भी किया गया।

शिक्षा और पुलिस विभाग के संयुक्त तत्वावधान में जागरूकता अभियान चलाया जा रहा है। अब तक 3 हजार से अधिक विद्यार्थियों और 500 से अधिक लोगों को जागरूक किया जा चुका है। प्रतियोगिताओं के माध्यम से युवाओं को नशे से दूर रहने का संदेश दिया जा रहा है। नशीली दवाओं की गतिविधियों की जानकारी पुलिस हेल्पलाइन 1933 पर दी जा सकती है। इसके अलावा नॉरकोटिक्स कंट्रोल ब्यूरो के मानस पोर्टल और उमंग ऐप पर भी सूचना साझा की जा सकती है। शिकायतकर्ता की पहचान गुप्त रखी जाएगी। उपायुक्त प्रियंका वर्मा ने शिक्षा विभाग को शिक्षक दिवस पर आयोजित आम सभा में नशे के दुष्प्रभाव पर बच्चों और अभिभावकों को जागरूक करने के निर्देश दिए। स्वास्थ्य विभाग को नई दिशा केंद्रों की सुविधाओं की नियमित जांच करने और उपमंडल अधिकारियों को विद्यालयों में जाकर बच्चों को प्रेरित करने को कहा गया।

A meeting of the district level anti-drug coordination committee was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Priyanka Verma in Nahan of Sirmaur district. In the meeting, emphasis was laid on establishing better coordination between law enforcement agencies to prevent the menace of drugs. The district police administration informed that so far in the year 2025, 113 cases have been registered under the NDPS Act. There has been an increase of 77 percent in the cases this year as compared to last year. The committee was informed that farmers are being made aware against illegal opium and cannabis cultivation. The work of uprooting the natural cultivation of cannabis was also done in different areas of the district.

Awareness campaign is being run under the joint aegis of Education and Police Department. So far, more than 3 thousand students and more than 500 people have been made aware. Through competitions, the youth are being given the message to stay away from drugs. Information about drug activities can be given on Police Helpline 1933. Apart from this, information can also be shared on the Manas Portal and Umang App of Narcotics Control Bureau. The identity of the complainant will be kept secret. Deputy Commissioner Priyanka Verma directed the Education Department to make children and parents aware of the ill effects of drugs in the general meeting organized on Teachers’ Day. The Health Department was asked to regularly check the facilities of Nai Disha centers and sub-divisional officers were asked to visit schools and motivate children.
